Dang. I know "it is appointed to man once to die," but there are some folks I wish God would make an exception for...

I always liked banjo music tho it doesn’t seem too many others do.

I never made the effort to purposely listen to Flatt and Scruggs but when I heard them they were good.

Back in the early 60’s I worked at a Summer resort. There was one guy who regularly sat on the porch of the top floor or the boy’s dorm. He would play the banjo, I guess practicing.

After a while I began to enjoy listening to him and that banjo really carried all over the campus.

His picking on Will the Circle Be Unbroken, with NGDB and other legends, is classic. ...”your gettin’ all them banjo breaks”.

I think the Flatt & Scruggs Show highlights can still be seen on Netflix.

They don’t make shows like that anymore.

Amazing talent. The Beverly Hillbillies theme was performed by the duo of Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs.

Both were great musicians. The The Ballad of Jed Clampett on TV is played by them but not sung by them. However they do sing it on albums. Another guy Jerry Scoggins sang it for TV. The writter of the series Paul Henning wrote the song.

There is a great video on You Tube with Earl Scruggs, Randy Scruggs, Chet Atkins, Daune Eddy, Vince Gill, and others all playing Lonesome River.
