Purple Lean, or Lean, is an intoxicating beverage also known by the names lean, sizzurp, and liquid codeine. It is commonly abused by southern rappers and wannabe suburban teenagers. Promethazine with codeine, consumed in such large amounts as is popular with such southern rappers as lil wayne, slim thug, and Big Moe, produces an opiate-like high that is potentiated by the Promethazine.

Promethazine by itself will not produce a high. The beverage must be sipped slowly, and not guzzled, in order to avoid unconsciousness and/or life threatening overdose.

But what does this have to do with Robitussin or “DXM”? Trayvon clarifies in his next message:

I’m professionally familiar with the effects of DM as a drug of abuse, as well as the Erowid site, which is pretty reliable for what it does.

People react to DM with a mixture of PCP-like and amphetamine-like effects, the preponderance of one or the other depending on genetically-mediated factors. Although related to opiates, hence its anti-tussive (cough suppressant) effects, it has very little - about 1/5000th - of the normal affinity for the mu opiate receptor which causes the normal psychological effects of opiates. In other words, when abused, you don’t get an opiate high, but a mixture of amphetamine-like and PCP-like effects, both short-term and long-term.

This article proposes a well thought out theory that explains a great deal that led up to the night of the homicide, as well as the events of that evening. Unfortunately, it offers no comprehensible understanding for the mental derangement seen among the media, the Libs, and the Blacks of this country. Their mental disorder is of a different variety.

Because once he got shot, they're not interested in why Trayvon would have gone nuts and started beating on Zimmerman. They're only interested in the immediate circumstances and the cause of his death.
