Obama doesn’t make jokes about himself. That would be racist.

Last night Romney dispelled another Obozo myth. By being finny and charming he showed everyone that he's not stiff and entitled.......
I love the part where Romney rips into the Press....if you watch Katie Couric in the background her face goes a little sour at one point.

That speech—shown “unfiltered” on most news channels—could end up convincing a lot more voters to support Romney over Obama. The way the way the speech was delivered reminded me so much of the late Bob Hope’s monologues on his TV specials for NBC.

If his delivery from last night is any indication of how he's going to give speeches as President......then the media is going to have a really rough time papering over his personality for the next four years......
Michael Deavers, Reagan's image guy, new that a picture paints a thousand words and that whatever the press would write about it after the fact wouldn't really stick.
Romney is enjoying that same dynamic now......he showed up to the debates and wasn't even close to representing the Romney the press had created with their words in print. This Al Smith dinner furthers that dynamic for Romney.

Romney killed and the almighty highmaster of narcissism had to just sit there and take it, pretending to laugh at himself. Romney will go in for the final kill at the next debate, Obama hasn’t got a chance.

the jokes were terrific but the ending was brilliant where he talked about the foundation....watch the video and listen to his did at the pro-abortion folks.. "this is a organization that stands in solidarity with the innocent child waiting to be born"... that line was broken up by applause, including katie couric....didn't know she was anti-abortion (/sarc)

I suspect that Dennis Miller who is now traveling with the Romney campaign had a lot if input.

Hahaha!! Not only is that going to leave marks, Obama is going out on a stretcher!

The contrast and content was so different between the two "dignitaries", was tremendous.
It gave all those NY Catholics something to chew on when Gov. Romney talked about life from conception to natural death. His timing was great, he had no fear of honesty, "brutal" though some may have considered the remarks to be, the audience was thoroughly entertained and were given a lot of true "punch lines" about Obummer.
We thought it hilarious.
Even the greatest of writers could not achieve the "right on" timing in making his remarks.
The applause and laugh meter definitely was off the scale for his remarks and ominously unamused for most of the president's. I objected to Obama being invited, but it was an opportunity for contrast for everyone who saw it.
I also loved Mr. Bozell's comments about being a Catholic and being "scandalized" at Chris Matthews being there.

I suspect that Dennis Miller who is now traveling with the Romney campaign had a lot if input. Among others, that line about 'brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion' has Dennis Miller written all over it. It was brilliant, and so was MR's delivery.

Great jokes, delivered with skill and warmth. This is awesome.

I didn’t watch Obama’s speech. How was it received by the audience and how did it compare to Mitt’s?

One possible error made. It did sound like he said “Die”, but I’m sure he meant “Dine”.
“And Ive already seen early reports from tonights dinner, headline; ‘Obama Embraced by Catholics. Romney Dies [Dines?] with Rich People.’...”

Agreed......
Romney will go in for the final kill at the next debate, Obama hasnt got a chance.
I think this is going to be checkmate as well. Up until now, Romney has been moving the pieces around the board on both Obozo and his "In like" campaign contributers - the news media.
I think the best part of this whole campaign is not only the fact that Romney has shown himself to be exactly the opposite of how he was advertised by the left and the media but more importantly Romney was finally able to expose the BLATANT LIBERAL BIAS of THE MEDIA to 65 million homes in a single debate.
I don't think the media will ever recover from it either......too many people saw it with their own eyes.

Campaigns can be grueling, exhausting. President Obama and are each very lucky to have one person who is always in our corner, someone who we can lean on, and someone who is a comforting presence. Without whom, we wouldnt be able to go another day. I have my beautiful wife Ann, he has Bill Clinton.
(LAUGHTER)
We got a big dose of the Biden charm last week, I tell you that, in his debate with Paul Ryan. Im not sure that all that carrying on had quite the effect that Joe intended. Because afterwards I heard from the Federal Election Commission, from now on whenever he appears on TV theres a recording of me afterwards that says, Im Mitt Romney, and I approved this message.
(LAUGHTER)...”
