The beltway in Houston feels like NASCAR at times...

He went thru a toll booth lane at 220mph? Holy Carp! The toll readers on the main lanes are just overhead reader / scanners for the TXTAG with cameras to capture the license plate. The off ramp booths are just wide enough to let 18 wheelers and delivery trucks off the road. 35 MPH is max on those.

hmmmm.. wonder if they’ll try to automatically ticket anybody caught averaging above 85 mph between timed tollgate captures?

Will they take my E-Z Pass? Toll roads in Florida don't accept them...seems unlikely Texas would.

Will they take my E-Z Pass? I don't think so. You need a TxTag: http://www.txtag.org/.
However, that works everywhere in Texas. The Dallas and Houston tolltag authorities have their own tolltag, but they also work everywhere in Texas.
You can still drive on the tollroads. It will just snap a picture of your license plate and mail a bill to the address on your registration. However, it's about 50% more, at least where I drive.
I don't know if they send the bill for just one or two tolls.

but my wife wont let me buy one.....
That's a bummer! Not to worry Gator, I'll let you drive mine.....(when I can afford one).
What a conundrum, you can afford one but can't, while I can't afford one but can.......life isn't fair.

I guess it was just my bad luck to get pulled over in Garland for doing 75.

My car is having work done so I have a rental.
It is a 2013 Cruze....can do 140mph.
What's the point?
To: Cincinatus' Wife
It can capture the plate in milliseconds...but they wont send you the bill until its already late with a fine attached.
To: listenhillary
No, didn’t see it. I can’t imagine. Hope they went quickly...

I don’t get out much on interstates or toll roads, anymore. I just remember those toll booth chutes from many years ago. Try to stay on rural or side roads, now. :)

Hennessey was the driver? I wonder if Hennessey has cleaned up his act. A few years back he was sued over and over in Harris county for all sorts of things related to not doing things to peoples cars that he agreed to make faster.
You can google it....

Quote on the Hennessey Performance web site for this car, Cadillac CTS-V 610 to 1250 HP Available and top speed of up to 242mph.
Or maybe this 2013 Hennessey Venom GT @1244 HP as "The World's most powerful Roadster"
Gee I wonder what their gas mileage is?
