So like Obamacare you have to buy it to find out what’s in it?

“It just says they don’t use artificial growth hormones.”

You have just been suckered.

These marketing dept. are out to SELL us and they play games with the labels. Time to milk the cows myself.

Yup because that’s actually something natural.

What about aspartame poising?
Prolonged use of aspartame can, in certain individuals, bring about symptoms of MS.

Anything is a “poison” to ~some~ people but if I have to eat something sweet, I’d prefer something that God made and not a chemist.

Raw, unrefined sugar contains fair amounts of chromium which help to stabilize blood sugar.

Then again, I personally only consume sugar incidentally if it’s present in something else.

I avoid sweets completely.

this stuff gives me migraines

Me too.

I know a girl that passes out when she eats or drinks anything with it in it.

This is not tame stuff.

Well, if I buy some milk with aspartame in it, I’m demanding my money back from the store, or I won’t shop there again. If enough people do similarly, then they’ll voluntarily label their products.

We don’t need to appeal to FDA for everything, when good old fashioned market economics can solve the problem.

yes and no. I have notice from time to time I do I have no problem eating anything diary but there are times when I do. I am not sure if I am gradually becoming sensitive to Milk. There are times I do get a reaction and other times no. That is why if I drink or eat anything with Milk it must be done at home.

I see no problem with that. It is YOUR personal responsibility to find out what is your food made up of, not the government’s. Label requirements are anti-business and anti-personal responsibility. Label requirements promote laziness among an already fat, whiny, and dependent general population.

I often wondered how Vitamin D was added but not enough to find out. Now I am wondering about all sorts of stuff in our food and how it gets there. Fish oil in milk sounds gross.

That is my point. How much stuff is in our food that we don’t know or don’t really understand? I have never been on the organic bandwagon and don’t plan to start, but it seems only fair to at least warn us.

“Yet some claim that requiring such disclosures is an anti-conservative position, and withholding basic information from consumers is somehow conservative.”

How is forcing businesses to do something conservative? The conservative position is about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, which means customer should do their own homework to see what is right/wrong for them. Not to rely on the government to force businesses. Tell me this: do you agree with the tobacco laws as well? I have no respect for smokers, but it is their choice to kill themselves. Requiring businesses to have “warning” label is ridiculous.

It's definitely conservative to require that the seller's of products supply truthful information to consumers about their products.

It's idiotic nonsense to pretend that consumers should take "personal responsiblity" to learn the details of everything they buy. It would also be totally impossible.

Personal responsibility does not cease to exist on harder things.. if you don’t trust your seller, then don’t buy from them. Simple.

Goat's milk might be a pricier, but healthier alternative for you. Not all like the flavor, but it is good milk.

Are they talking about chocolate milk? Kids like that better than regular milk so maybe that’s where they want to put it. Surely they don’t mean to sweeten regular milk. That would be stupid - oh, wait...
