I don’t know what happens to these talking heads in the UK when they retire, and if they become celebrutards there, but I’ve heard that they are properly called there the “newsreaders” which is all that they are there and here. The one thing I ever learned from listening to Michael Smerconish years ago was that Brokaw, at least at one point, was wearing a Che t-shirt while out and about.
He was a liberal dufus when I was growing up and he was the anchor on KNBC in Los Angeles. Nothing changes.
