Allowing government employees of any kind to unionize was a fatal mistake. Even commie-loving FDR was against it.
When I read & heard of Miller's departure and the timing of his tenure as Acting Commissioner, at first I figured he was the scrapegoat & may not have even deserved it.
However, after a little more research, and then seeing his testimony before Congress, I'd say that the attitude he displayed before the Committee is all that is needed to see that he is far from hapless, and needs to be tossed along with a lot of other people.
Fair Tax is still derivative of the authority in the 16th Amendment. Get rid of that amendment and we don't need the Fair Tax either!
Jeff can read my posts on FR and do better stories. I covered this days ago!
Links, please.
What is your proposal?
And, is there legislation in Congress to implement your proposal?
It is very easy to sit on the sidelines and throw rocks at the ideas other folks have — far more difficult to defend your own ideas.
Have at it!
The entire Executive Branch, for starters?
Agreed!
You can begin the process to amend the Constitution in several different ways. That’s how you get rid of the 16th amendment.
I know how to repeal the 16th — H.J. Res 16 calls for repealing the 16th, and 16thamendment.org is a website supporting same.
I was not talking about repealing the 16th Amendment — I was asking you what your solution to the Federal income tax/Internal Revenue Service problem is.
And, your answer is?
I call “BULLSHIT!” on you Obongo Bozo! “You lie! You lie! You lie!”
Great post, Travis!
There are plenty of other taxes for IRS to manage ~
However, I suspect your real question, you old statist, is how do we finance the feral gub'mnt. And the answer to that is quite lenthy:
STARVE THE BEAST!
You have, once again, cleverly managed to avoid answering my question: What is your proposal to fund the Federal Government?
That has to be the starting point of our dialogue.
I have shown you mine. It is time for you to show me yours!
There are thousands of other federal taxes, but only a statist worries about funding the federal government as a first item in any discussion of what tax policy ought to be!
The discussion here is limited (it is my thread, after all!) to the IRS and federal income taxes.
We’ll discuss other federal taxes (and I agree that they should ALL be eliminated in favor of the FairTax) when appropriate.
Easily found in the USC.
Subsequently you advanced some ideas that I also knocked out of the ballpark.
You may think you own the thread, but you should be prepared to deal with challenges to your pet beliefs. Seems to me you aren't.
When you refuse to answer straight questions put to you, you demonstrate that you are not here to compete in the realm of ideas.
So far as I can tell, you have not hit anything out of any ballpark. Not even a successful bunt.
I am not about to spend time rummaging through your posts to discover what your opinion is on certain issues.
Answer the FReaking questions, and then we’ll talk.
Until then, begone with you.
