That's absurd Rahm is to savvy, been around too long to do something that stupid. He would have worn gloves.
Yes, but who? It wouldn't be the woman who said this, would it?
"After we win this election, its our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we dont forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress wont be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go. Valerie Jarrett
That bit about Congress not being a problem, though, that one may have been a bit premature. BTT
I think anyone who has been audited has a potential claim. If I had been audited, and I consider myself to be conservative, it would certainly have a possible lawsuit on my hands.
I wonder if law firms will be running commercials during the late night movies, looking for clients?
Well, I have wondered if my donations to the Heritage Foundation triggered my IRS audit last Fall? I’m wearing it as a badge of honor.
These five employees should be made to understand that falling on their swords to protect their superiors could result in a large penalty ($5000,000), 10 years in federal prison, and loss of pension.
And time for the torches, pitchforks, tar and feathers!
I see a conservative Pigford lawsuit where we all get rich on our taxes!
Like standing in a bucket and picking it up?
Excellent point! Hopefully House investigators figure this out. If they discover a few instances of IRS problems suddenly going away for RAT suporters, it would really turn up the heat on this scandal.
And no, I am not kidding.
these lower level employees can't afford the legal fees it would take for them to pull off a successful stonewall, and commiting perjury before congress would be stupid. I would also imagine they don't appreciate being made scapegoats by the higher-ups.
There were some stories a few weeks ago about IRS statistics showing there are more tax cheats in red states than blue. IMO this very likely could turn out to be that the IRS audits more taxpayers in red states. If I were part of a House committee I would be requesting stats on per capita tax audits conducted in red vs blue states. This could end up being an even bigger scandal than the tax exempt audits and harrasment of conservative groups.
In 2002 the Republican candidate for California Governor was Bill Simon. Somebody inside the IRS leaked “confidential” information from his tax return to the press. I wish Simon would speak up about this. The ‘rats have been using the IRS against their political enemies for years.
Considering I have been ‘randomly selected’ for review on deductions every year since Obama took office, I can believe this.
1) The IRS has admitted to singling out groups with the words "tea party" and "patriots" in their names applying for 501(c)(4) status for "special scrutiny" that adds *years* the the wait time and thousands of dollars to the compliance costs of provide extensive documentation, including lists of donors.
2) The IRS has leaked information obtained from these groups to liberal organizations, who have in turn used the lists of donor names to harass and picket private individuals. They've also organized boycotts of companies.
3) The IRS has also leaked that information to other alphabet soup agencies like OSHA, SEC, ATF and EPA, who then used the lists of donor names to harass and audit private individuals and companies. This new allegation raises the specter of such activities being coordinated and controlled from someone very high in the executive branch.
This just undeniably hit the White House. We on FR have been claiming this for many moons, and now the news is going to spread.
I got mine back so fast I thought I had accidently voted for Obama.
It’s entirely possible....did you use the butterfly version of the 1040?
I understand what you are saying but would add that there are some ideologies such as Islamism and Communism where it is a matter of national defense to target them using such agencies as the FBI.
Hubby and I have both participated in the local Republican party in official capacities, starting in 2010. We had our 2011 taxes audited. Never had anything raise a flag before, and our tax forms are very boring/simple.
