When I see White punks in hoodies I pause too.
This is not racism, it is discrimination, which is a universal survival technique.
With grammar like this you should not be teaching anybody.
They said there are more black men in college than in jail......I find that hard to believe.
Yes, Donny, you’re a racist. It’s because you’re a liberal.
the first thing that bothers me about this is when another minority, in this case deuscth, who is jewish, tries to stir the pot.
first, maybe he wants bigotry to always be on the front burner, so we never forget, so to speak.
second, as a minority, he doesn’t really know how the majority feels or thinks, so he is in no position to judge.
When I see white punks with hoodies on(wiggers) I’m actuaaly more guarded. The White punks seem to think they have something to prove and there for can be more dangerous. Especially the ones with the “I’ll never get a descent job” tattoos.
I hear ya.
Well then, I'm a discriminator. On more than one occasion I've seen black punks with hoodies sneaking up on me from the side. Until I slip my jacket aside revealing my hand on a knife at my belt. Funny how they decide to leave pronto. There's no reason to have a hoodie covering most features and sneaking up towards someone unless one is out to attack or do harm. They're not just strolling by ignoring me, they're sharks trolling for a target. This old guy won't go easy if they pounce.
When the mainstream media allows blatant racists like that Rachel Jantell (sp?) Trayvon-friend to testify in open court and accept her comments without even a raised eyebrow, the term really appears to have lost all meaning.
And when some one comes into a shop with the hoodie up, the radar goes off.
A normal person would lower the hood upon entering a store.
He teaches at Columbia, only they would hire a moron like that to teach
Yes. Some of the encounters I had were in shopping malls, where I'm sitting on a bench waiting for my wife to leave a clothing store. You don't need a hoodie up in an enclosed mall. I remember when I was young over 60 years ago, my grandfather got jumped by three stronger taller young black punks in SF. Despite being elderly with a cane, he beat the crap out of them and left them in pain on the ground. He knew judo, and was a good role model for me.
It is menacing behavior.
Unless it’s blowing a gale and the rain is coming in sideways I am going to be suspicious of someone in a hoodie.
What are you hiding? We naturally scan people’s faces to see if they are friendly or not - to see if they are watching us or not - it’s part of our preservation system. Therefore when someone is hiding their face we automatically assume, without prejudice, that they are up to something and we should be wary. It doesn’t matter whether the dude is black, white or green stripped with purple polka dots.

Here’s the way I look at it: if four percent of the population wore a heart-shaped tattoo on their right wrist, and more than fifty percent of crimes were committed by that four percent, you would have a right, a duty, and an obligation to be suspicious of anyone, ANYONE, wearing a heart-shaped tattoo on his wrist.
Apparently being able to speak clearly and intelligently is no longer a requirement for a teaching position. I suppose that may be why only 20% of those graduating high school these days can read at an eighth grade level.
Video footage showed a clearly apprehensive clerk.
