The parallels with Jiminy Carter and Iran are disquieting. Iran was modernizing, westernizing, and liberalizing (in the good sense of increasing freedom) until Carter took the side of the Islamists and fomented a revolt.
The good news is the Egyptian Army has not been taken over by Islamists. Yet. The bad news is that Turkish Army has.
