I had an Obama voter do exactly that when I explained what was going on.

Gracious me! Of course they don’t have “death panels”. They just do a cost benefit analysis on your medical treatment (weighted for social justice I’m sure) and if you’re more expensive than they deem you worth they just benignly withhold treatment until you pass on (hopefully quickly because we won’t have euthanasia for another year or so except here in Oregon).

I can't stand to watch or listen to Beckel.

I keep watching because he looks like a regular guy: like any minute, the light will come on and he will realize what a tool he's been for the fairly recently communized democrat party and admit the error of his ways.

Now, Colmes (sp? who cares) is the one I can't watch. He doesn't even look human, and he happily, shamelessly parrots the progressive party line. He knows he's being dishonest, but he's sure he'll be among the 'elite' when all of us serfs are in our place come the socialist nirvana.

“If you don’t believe Mark Halperin, why not listen to what President Barack Obama himself has said?” she asked, quoting the president: “The chronically ill and those towards the end of their lives account for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill. We have to have a very difficult conversation about this.’”

What is the definition of "those toward the end of their lives"? It is: those with incurable illnesses who will soon die. Note that people of any age - not just the elderly - can and do have fatal illnesses.

Thus, the president is, in effect, saying that "those who are so seriously ill that they will soon die account for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill."

This is self-evident, as serious illness takes more money to treat. However - and this is truly insidious - the president is saying that we "have to have a very difficult conversation about" treating very seriously ill people.

One can envision "death panels" that remove treatment from very seriously ill people - of any age - once they pass a certain financial limit.

It's not just frail old grandma and grandpa in the nursing home: it can happen to any of us sooner than we can imagine.

The media should have listened to Sarah Palin before now. She was absolutely correct.

The better question would be, hasn’t Sarah Palin been beat up enough? Of course, its all about protecting the holy grail of liberalism - healthcare control. I heard Mark Levin last night say that it was harder and harder for him to be friends with people like Beckel This was in response to one of his callers. I’m also wondering if he and Sean are that close as friends.

Beckel knows that scaring people is powerful, it’s a Democratic institution. He has to panic over soomething liket his, right or wrong. The other side is getting on his turf. He knows how to fight reason.

Fighting fear is much more difficult and dangerous when your voters are low information types.

>> Beckel is an ill behaved oafish boor and the hardest of hard core leftists.

Beckel is an incredibly ignorant and stubborn Liberal that is foolishly supporting the Leftism that objects to his expressed Christian, anti-Jihadi beliefs.

Beckel is a paid antagonist that believes his own BS. But he’s not the malevolent Leftist he voted into power.

Whether Beckel wants to admit it or not, there is no way around rationing once the government gets involved. And how do you ration health care? You get a group of bureaucrats together to decide who should be given health care resources and who should not. Clearly, to these committees, younger people, who presumably would still have working years ahead of them (and therefore could provide tax revenue to the state) would be preferable to retired people who were net receivers of federal funds. Voila: Death Panels.

10 Didn’t his buddy alinsky say it’d take 20-25 million casualties to get what they wanted?

Close ... but no cigar.

Larry Grathwohl, an undercover FBI informant on the Weather Underground, recalled his experience with the Weathermen in the 1982 documentary "No Place to Hide."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWMIwziGrAQ

In a session with members of the Weathermen, Grathwohl said the discussion centered on a future in which the communist nations of Cuba, North Korea, China and the Soviet Union would occupy various parts of the U.S., with "re-education centers" established in the Southwest to prevent counterrevolution. "I asked, 'Well what is going to happen to those people we can't re-educate, that are diehard capitalists?' And the reply was that they'd (25 million) have to be eliminated (killed)."

Larry Grathwohl wrote of his experiences in Bringing Down America: An FBI Informer with the Weathermen, © 1976. He passed away this year. May he rest in peace.

The patient and his insurance company pay the bills, not any *we* until, of course, the left made it mandatory for the government to be the payer of last resort.

Under our former system, there was no shortage of resources.
Providing medical resources was profitable business. Now, of course (since Clinton), we have shortages of medications, providers, equipment and soon, the hospitals themselves. A leftist CNN commentator excoriates Christians for not providing *enough* healthcare while the leftists pressure the charity hospitals until they have to close.

It is just a nightmare.
