I’ve never seen a bald head before... how shocking!

I’ve eaten at Golden Corral far more than I’ve eaten at a Mortons or a Ruth Chris or any of those types..

***************************************

I may have eaten at a Morton's, but I've never been to either Golden Corral, or Ruth's Chris. I have no problem with dress codes at all.

“If you let me wear my cap, we will all eat, pay and lea"ve. If you make any issue about this at all, we will go on the Internet, and within a few hours you will be vilified, your corporation will demand a personal apology from you, they will likely feel forced to give a large check to some charity, and you will still have your business reputation ruined. You might even lose your job, or at least any chance for a future promotion.

Ahhh! Coercion! "Let me do as I please on your turf or I'll hurt you."

I went through chemo and lost every hair on my body from it. I always wore a skullcap or hat around the house or when out doing errands because the grandkids said my bald head was ‘creepy’. When we went to a restaurant or something fancier I wore a wig. I hated the wigs. They were hot and scratchy so I didn’t wear them unless I felt I had to.

WATCH OUT! The populist Freep left will soon be along to tell you what an elitist snob you are!!!

And so you know, Ruth Chris' are generally excellent….once you're in one, you don't feel like you're in a chain at all. I've been maybe 4,5 times in 3,4 different cities…..never been disappointed. I would say just a small cut below Mortons on the whole….but close. And again, thanks to Obama, this type joint is off my radar for the time being…...

Any business that thinks they are so valuable that it makes since to treat their customers as children I stay away from.

If they treat you like a child, maybe it's because you won't play pretty with the other children--the one's who go to a place like Morton's for the atmosphere/experience as well as the food. It wouldn't be you against just Morton's, it would be you against Morton's acting on behalf of the other patrons too.

On the other hand, Morton's could have made an exception in this case.

On the other, other hand, I believe the article did say they were asked to leave because they insulted a server, not because of the hat per se.

I am ashamed for you that you would so quickly take the low road and resort to insults

He was trying to show you what sort of person he wants to be, but unintentionally demonstrated what sort he really is. That is the hazard of pretense.

Ahhh! Coercion! "Let me do as I please on your turf or I'll hurt you."

Well, this is certainly a dynamic in our society today. And my radar is attuned to it….but in this case, from what we know, the mgr did not handle it well.

And the irony is, Morton's target audience will likely view this as follows: "poorly handled situation, but no reflection on Mortons as a whole, and in general I'm glad they have abnormally high standards for dress and behavior."

In other words, it won't cost Mortons a dimes worth of business….

Yes, I think that I’ve already experienced a bit of that recently. However, since I am an unrepentant capitalist, my head remains unbowed. :)

Me too! And I celebrate Mortons’ and other fine dining establishments, even as the Obama-nation has forced me onto the sidelines from such places for what I hope is only a temporary period of time.

And what’s funny is how I trapped a few of these self righteous situational libs in this very thread…..playing on their obvious assumptions.

Morton’s is taking a beat-down in the ‘Comments’ section on Yelp...

It may be that these uncertain times have brought out the worst in some, I don't know. This is such a wonderful season, but it seems that not all of us are able to find a reason to celebrate. Ah, well. Maybe this will cheer them up. :)

You are a situational populist liberal

Again with the insults....So I don't feel the need to patronize a particular eatery so that makes me a card carrying liberal. While you are the protector of the constitution. And the very concept of liberty is under attack. I guess my stint in the USMC doesn't get me any points with you. "It's a restaurant" and I've said nothing about their right to exist other than I don't care to go there. You know!!! I am at "LIBERTY" to do so!!! The fact that you feel so strongly about the subject says more about you than anything else....you really set out to "TRAP" me. LOL!!!

I ate at Morton’s in NYC and it was the only time I’ve truly been disappointed in a steakhouse. My lady friend was embarrassed she even recommended it. It was as if my meal had been ordered by somebody else, cancelled, then placed under a warmer until I ordered it.

I’ve never had a worse steak in a restaurant than I had at Morton’s.

It was so bad I will never give Morton’s a second chance.

There’s something about paying $80/person for steak and a la carte sides that makes you feel robbed when you get a better steak at Outback for $14. At least at the Outback, there are no pretenses that you’re getting the best steak available.

I understand this is not typical at Morton’s, but the fact is that they screw up sometimes. When people are paying a premium for food and service, they expect a premium experience in return. When expectations are not met, criticism is merited and hopefully it effects change in the establishment.
