Just the fact that YT was so quick to take it down shows how effective the little speech was.

I can just see the mucky mucks in the GOP-e pulling in favors to get it pulled.

Makes sense, YT is owned by Google which is leftist also.

This will turn out good in the long run I think.

Mike nailed it on Inequality..Bravo! as follows:

....tonight, as on numerous occasions of late, the President’s lofty rhetoric ignored the fact that his administration continues to leave poor and middle-class families further behind, while he and his allies insist that the real problem is “inequality” itself.

But where does this new inequality come from? From government — every time it takes rights and opportunities away from the American people and gives them instead to politicians, bureaucrats, and special interests.

Inequality – real inequality - is trapping poor children in failing schools to benefit bureaucrats and union bosses. It’s penalizing low-income parents for getting married, or getting better jobs.

It’s guaranteeing insurance companies taxpayer bailouts if Obamacare cuts into their profits.

Inequality is blocking thousands of middle-class jobs in the energy industry as a favor to partisan donors and radical environmental activists.

Inequality is denying viable, unborn children any protection under the law, while exempting unsanitary, late-term abortion clinics from basic safety standards.

It’s denying citizens their right to define marriage in their states as traditionally or as broadly as their diverse values dictate.

It’s the federal government hurting rural communities, especially in the west, by controlling and mismanaging public lands.

It’s changing laws without congressional approval, and spying on American citizens without constitutional authority.

And of course, Obamacare – all by itself – is an inequality Godzilla that has robbed working families of their insurance, their doctors, their wages and their jobs.

They started the streaming clock about an hour before Lee started talking. Had similar early ‘start’ on the GOPe speech, which is listed as 2:51 long on Conservatives4Palin site’s SOTU page. C4P also embedded a feed for the “2014 State of the Union: Enhanced Broadcast” which is currently 8:44 long. All hosted on YouTube. My first thought, having caught Lee live and then later seeing the “too long” message was to blame the length of the fixed frame header. I presume the header was ‘needed’ so sites wanting to embed Lee’s speech, like FR, would know what pointer to use in advance. However, the GOPe’s ‘header’ was longer (they ran Obama’s speech rather than a fixed frame and Obama, like all good communists, wasted many hours of YouTube space. So maybe the Obama fanboys running Google and owning YouTube do have some explaining to do.

I think I’ll skip those. I’ve heard it all already. But I would like to see Mike Lee, even if it’s not a barnburner. It might actually be better this way—the reasoned, careful response. Then maybe others will do barnburners later on the talk shows or whatever.

I really like the way Mike Lee speaks. He says things they way I’d say them ;-) The idea of turning protest into positive action is a good way to draw independents in, since they aren’t interested in the TP vs GOP-E infighting, but want to see someone put solutions forth that work.

Good post.

Obama’s definition of equality:

Equality = EVERYBODY IS POOR

Just saw this comment on the TPX site, a tweet I guess:

Bush's speechwriter (Marc Thiessen) just said on FOX that Obama's speech was plagerized from a Bush speech.

Hmmmmmm, no doubt!

Just saw/heard it. Interesting speech. Are any of these reform bills he mentioned sitting right now on Harry Reid’s desk? Or maybe it’s not worth the aggravation to get them passed with the Senate being so obstructionist? Either way, good that he stressed the positive along with mentioning the negative.

Yes, leave it to those outside of government to do the fiery speeches. Not appropriate for Lee. He did just right.

I imagine there a lot of bills sitting on Reid’s desk.

He won’t bring anything up for a vote that he doesn’t like.

The Republicans for months have presented Congress with alternatives to Obamacare, and they are not voted on.

The dems continue the mantra of “the republicans don’t have an alternative to obamacare” and the press sees that and publishes it as one example.

The dems won’t pass anything from the republicans unless it is written the way the dems want.

And the weak scardy cat republicans have given them what they want more than once, dems never compromise; that’s the job of Republicans!

Corrupt to the core from both sides.

I think Lee gave a good speech also.

All, I had the mods put the link to the actual video in the top link that says “tea party express” instead of the TPX site where it is still missing.

Mike Lee's tweets on fire tonight. Here's but one: "Mike Lee ‏@SenMikeLee 2m Inequality is blocking thousands of middle-class energy jobs as a favor to partisan donors & radical environmental activists."
