NSA started talking about spying on the internet in 1996!
Few Americans were even online back then and those that did spent very little time on it.
Back in the early days web pages took about a minute to load as I recall.
Yep. 1996, The New Dawn of Spying!
I remember the dialup days.
One has to wonder how big the NSA really is.
could they be...dare I say such a thing.....de-funded in this “envorinment”?
Here’s an article about the internet of 1996.
http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/technology/2009/02/jurassic_web.html
People called it the world wide web back then, 20 million Americans were online and spent about 30 minutes per month online.
This is what Yahoo’s homepage looked like:
http://web.archive.org/web/19961017235908/http:/www2.yahoo.com/
1996 was also the year email started.
“The NSA doesn’t generally do anything that hasn’t been sanctioned by the White House. Every six months, the White House issues a type of “surveillance matrix” - in which all countries and topics of interest are outlined: foreign policy, armament policy, economic policy and similar things. For each country, a very sophisticated information-sifting process determines what the interests are and how high the priorities are. One is very high and five is very low.”
What is next? Are they going to admit to beaming messages into people’s heads?
Not that it would surprise me if they were actually doing so...

It took a WHOLE minute to load as it had to spend 30 seconds going through the NSA router...
Notice that the yahoo homepage back then wasn’t filled with leftist news headlines.
Just a directory of links and no pictures either.
No wonder Obungo wants to give away the control of the internet to ... parties unknown .
Probably wants to give it to the UN , or China , or Russia so that he show how he's ".. more flexible " .
Not that it would surprise me if they were actually doing so...
We're ready when that happens...

You are absolutely correct!
This is one reason that I dislike when people try to insinuate/imply that Obama is the problem — no, the problem is far more endemic.
Tinfoil Fez and tinfoil fedora.
