Unreasonable union work rules drive away jobs regardless of wages.

Nonsense. IT workers were not unionized. R&D worker were not unionized. Financial services workers were not unionized. None of those require transportation costs. And a lot of the manufacturing jobs in areas like textiles and furniture were not unionized either. It's dollars and cents paid in salaries, period.

All of that can be done electronically anywhere, yup they are screwed.
