and so he never should have mentioned it, because even though he says it is not an excuse, his tossing in there that he was in DD for "three minutes" and that he had not eaten anything all day, is his way of excusing his behavior... bad form!
here in Santa Clara County, CA--they have been checking... both of my parents each have their own placards... daddy is 91, momma is 89... if i am driving my momma somewhere, we make sure we have her placard and not my daddy's... vice versa...
Someone I know used to always offer me her handicapped placard whenever I would go to the store. I’d say over and over that I’d rather leave those spaces for people who need them like Vets who’ve had a leg or two blown off, the elderly, etc.
But, you’re right.
I hardly ever see someone like that using those spaces.
Usually younger folks who seem to be able to walk around just fine.
Either they left out the fact he’s a Democrat on purpose or they just assumed the reader would know since this is Connecticut and all.
Some years ago, wife and I are walking into a cafe, Hi-lift El camino WITH a handicap plate is parked by the front door in a handicap spot. The floorboard is about eye level, with a ladder to climb in. I’m wondering just what sort of handicap might this person have?
Called Texas DOT next day. I was told that if a driver presented with a note from a doctor, DOT had no choice but to issue a handicap plate.
they have been checking
I was more worried about drawing bad luck, falling, and actually getting disabled, myself, but you raise a good point !
Because it’s illegal????? LOL
That too !
Really? wow. that sounds easy. I don’t know what it would take here. But to get a placard, I had to have this form, signed by my dr. and delivered to the tag office, It was really easy.
I met a lady who had one because she couldn’t see out of one eye. That’s just ridiculous.
“Don’t you know who I am?”
NO, they are not. If someone is faking it (more likely using their relatives placard) we can’t help that, but far more handicapped people are using them than otherwise. Sometimes I get out of my car and don’t need my cane that day. I walk into the store seemingly just fine.....does that mean that the system is broken? NO. Not everyone’s handicap is on exhibit for your viewing pleasure.
no party mention, so yes. further this is connecticut, so yes.
So I'm not allowed to use my eyes to see, and my brain to think? I'm not allowed to connect the dots, be analytical, and generalize?
What kind of handicaps are both (a) deserving of a special parking place, (b) not so severe as to prevent a person from safely operating a motor vehicle, and (c) invisible? Tell about them.
Mental handicaps, maybe?
Bad juju was my reply !”
Amen to that brother. This man might think the same.
We can certainly hope so !
ha! and i like your thinking!
I agree. I, thank God, am not handicapped but even when I have driven my sister's car and MIL's car which both legitimately have HC placards, I would never use an HC space. That is not just ignorant and lazy, it is very bad Karma, IMHO. ;~)
Thanks !
He looks kind of chubby too. Dr. Ditto recommends he stay away from donuts and park at the back of the lot. He could use some exercise.
