I think the speculation and intrigue about “what is on” the server is a red herring. _That_ there was a server in the first place, that it was clearly set up for the purpose of avoiding use of appropriate government information systems is the scandal and it is incontrovertible.

Whatever business ocurred on the server, even if it is recovered or revealed is just additional noise, she never intended to serve in that office in a trustworthy and verifiable manner like other citizens would. That is the story.

Could be. One thing, though, is people in power like control and they don't give up control over anything easily. If they can get away with revealing nothing, they'll reveal nothing.

I'm thinking more about this Germanwings copilot than about Hillary. Whenever the authorities say they aren't releasing some information at this time the assumption is always that there's some specific and horrible reason why they're keeping it secret, but it's common for investigating authorities to limit the information they give out, especially in the early stages of an investigation.
