Right, but the issue wasn't that Affleck had slave owners in his family tree.

The issue was he wanted that information edited out of the broadcast.

He is the one who made a big deal out of it.

I agree that it *normally* wouldn't be a conservative/liberal issue.

But Ben wanted to be thought of as having ancestry as pure as the driven snow.
