in regards to the charity status of the Salvation Army. We were recently treated to a expose unveiling that the owner pulls in 17-million in 2012 and has never be charitable to anyone other than his self. WOW - glad I do not contribute to them. That's obscene for a charity. I didn't even know the Salvation Army was "owned" by anyone.

Baloney! The Salvation Army is a church and has no owner. Where’s the link?

Maybe he is thinking of Goodwill? I’ve heard rumors to that effect about it.

I went through Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Mississippi. I want to hear nothing negative about the Salvation Army after that.

A close vet friend who works with injured vets has nothing good to say about these vermin.

I don’t blame them for suing over fair use and trademark.
I am confused by the many TEA Party groups and never give any of them my hard earned loot...

I just wonder what percentage of their gross actually goes to the veterans? I have heard, not a very high percentage, just wondering....

The Salvation Army is the main charity that I give to.
I think the head of the Salvation Army gets about $20,000 in salary per year or something.

IIRC, all the “officers” are clergy members.

Are you sure you aren’t referring to Good Will? Might ought to check that out.

I’ve never heard anything negative either, just about Goodwill.

Wounded Warrior pass thru compares closely to the Clinton Foundation ... very little, around 15%-20% actually makes it way to the end beneficiary ... the ones that they so ardently promote ... the whole premise of their fund raising. One of the best in terms of bang for the buck is Doctors Without Borders ... nearly 85% is a direct pass thru to the end beneficiary. We’ve supported this fine organization for some 20 years.

Its still a brand. Is it trademarked?
If so, they have to rather aggressively protect the trademark. If you do not, you can lose it. If not, they can pound sand.
