The nominee has had the nomination sewn up by March the last two times around, by June of next year we’ll be looking at Jeb Bush as presumptive nominee if people wait until then to decide.

I hope you’re right, but his stranglehold on the Southern Baptist block was pretty strong last time. Ted Cruz is a Christian, but he wasn’t a baptist preacher, and that means a lot to some people.

And thats the thing, he doesn’t have to have a HUGE impact. If he siphons 5% and Santorum gets another 5% of people who’s primary issue is abortion, thats a big deal because its all coming from Cruz.

Santorum especially bothers me because he has come out and stated he’s running to give voice to pro life causes. Nothing against pro life, but if you are running for president it should be because you think you can be president, not cause celeb for a particular issue.

Bush loves Jesus too but he pronounces it “Haysoos”.

First full-term governor officially in the race.

Wasn’t a bad speech. But, somebody should have told him that Obama isn’t running again.

Caught some of the speech on my way to lunch. CNN was on in the Burger King, watched some more.

Until...

CNN switched over to the White Hut for Obie’s introduction of his choice for Joint Chiefs.

Biden was standing behind him, and had this permanent scowl on his face that looked like somebody had cut the cheese. Real bad. It was all I could do to not break out laughing!

"He will be taken seriously by those who care about moral and religious issues."

Yes, true, no one is stronger on life than Huck.
GOV. HUCKABEE: I think if a doctor knowingly took the life of an unborn child for money, and that's why he was doing it, yeah, I think you would, you would find some way to sanction that doctor. I don't know that you'd put him in prison, but there's something to me untoward about a person who has committed himself to healing people and to making people alive who would take money to take an innocent life and to make that life dead. There's something that just doesn't ring true about the purpose of medical practice when the first rule of the Hippocratic Oath is "First, do no harm." Well, if you take the life and suction out the pieces of an unborn child for no reason than its inconvenience to the mother, I don't think you've lived up to your Hippocratic Oath of doing no harm. -Tim Russert interview of Mike Huckabee 12-30-07

The fact that these clowns don’t realize how important it is they get behind one conservative who reflects the agenda we all claim to want is all the proof I need that they are self promoting phonies. Or worse.

Statements like this and others will make the media his mortal enemies, so there is no way he will be allowed to win the election. But the media’s enmity is a qualification for me, not a disqualification. Tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

There’s no question that the GOP will nomínate Bush. That’s as certain as anything can be.

The questions are, how many major campaigns will there be (3,4, or 5) and can the political system manage and survive the chaos that will result?

Yes, I agree. He's got to get back in better shape, too, if he's taking this seriously, which it looks like he is, but I've always admired his views on life. We saw that interview live with Tim Russert [where the quote came from], and to be drilled by Tim wasn't easy, especially when you're standing up for babies, but Huck soared beautifully. And then there's Chick-fil-A.......

Yes, he's currently back to looking like an overweight Baptist preacher. Not that there's anything wrong with that. . . .
