Amazing how people justify anything to avoid apologizing for the crap they brought down on America.

You are wrong. McConnell has already done far more damage to conservatism than Grimes could ever dream of doing, and he will continue to do so for a long time to come. McConnell is in a prime position to inflict the greatest amount of damage to up-and-coming conservative candidates, across the nation, whereas Grimes would have been little more than an irrelevant speck of dirt on the political landscape. And McConnell will continue to wreak havoc on any conservative upstarts for many more years to come. Thanks to the stupid Republican voters, who have believed in the illusion that a bad, yet very powerful, Republican was somehow better than someone almost certain to be one-term footnote in Senate history.

I dont like Bevin but I would be happy if Bevin(who is weak on immigration) or another candidate, who was an immigration hawk, would screw over power couple Rand McConnell and Mitch McConnell.

Yup, a weak freshman Senator named Allison Grimes would have prevented a LOT of the damage being done.

Isn’t it interesting that all the posters who polluted FreeRepublic with the “vote for McConnell, you can’t let a Democrat win!” posts have suddenly grown silent now that he’s shown his true colors - but even more so, others have seemed to develop amnesia towards all these posts? It’s like there’s some kind of an “Omertà” about this.

Cant tell the willfully ignorant that now, couldn’t tell the willfully ignorant that when it could have wrenched the GOP works.

They wanted their “Lesser evil” and it grew into the greatest evil as evil always does.

Not naming anyone till they come back around election time.
Besides, I’d have to ping them out of courtesy, and they wouldn’t show anyways.

And Travis Childers would have been a better choice in MS. But no.... can’t have that happen!

Senator McConnell has a death grip on the Kentucky Republican party.

He was instrumental in forcing Jim Bunning to retire from the Senate only to fall short of seeing his handpicked candidate take over the seat. The Ron Paul/Rand Paul campaign structure had deep pockets and an experienced get-out-the-vote machine. That, and a well-timed endorsement from Sarah Palin, was just enough to overcome the McConnell machine.

Going forward, it will be very difficult for a traditional candidate to stand up against his influence.
