I am really starting to feel very very isolated. Being a conservative in NYC is tough enough, but slowly but surely, libs and lib-thoughts are attacking every aspect of my life. I’ve self-banned certain musicians, tv shows, movies, even my St. Pat’s parade and Guinness beer! And now my pope. Maybe it is a sign of the end of times. Hope not. Sure seems like the beginning of the end of America though. Hard to stay positive. Very isolated these days.

"Pope urges revolution to save Earth, fix 'perverse' economy"

The current pope sounds an awful lot like Hugo Chavez... Both even used the word "perverse" to describe the Capitalist System.

The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible — global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes — with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet.”

“I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I don’t think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, ‘tomorrow could be too late, let’s do now what we need to do’.”

I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world — a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet.”

—Hugo Chavez, at the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Caracas on August 8-15, 2005

Pope Peronista just needs to visit his precious socialist utopia and look at the environmental filth they create. Go to any former soviet country or Argentina. Better yet pope. Go to Africa and take a look how miserable and filthy non consumerist nations live.

The pope said moderating the production-consumption model and slowing the “constant flood of new products”

So he agrees with Bernie Sanders. The problem is too many brands of deodorant.

No doubt about it, he will go down in history as the only Jesuit pope.

IMO the basic problem is that he’s Argentine. If you took a survey in that country 70% likely feel the same way.

You’re not the only one who feels that way. It seems everything decent is crumbling to dust in this country.

So disappointed. Lifelong Catholic. Had great hopes for this Pope. Seems sincere and caring, but keep out of environmental politics, please!

Catholics are being butchered all over the world and he worries about (fictitious) anthropogenic (human caused) climate change.

Always liked those Presbyterians! Time to check out a nice Sunday mass there instead.

An Argentine Socialist, friend of the Castros...

No offense to the Catholics, but the Catholic church also sided with Hitler.
Maybe this is why, according to the prophecies of St. Malachy , this is the last pope. This pope will side with the Antichrist, and that will be the end of the church.
