Years ago, many weapons were stolen from National Guard armories. Losing ammo in the same way would likely go unreported.
Lydia lives in the most bleak environment in all of Tamriel sans electricity, has racked up thousands of kills of men. women, farm animals and robots, regularly desecrates dead people with hard steel to take their stuff and has daddy issues after her Jarl gave her away as a reward for killing an endangered species. Besides, she makes a great sammich.
She is a model citizen.
The thing is, these articles make the papers in recent times. But the Govt has been stockpiling Ammo for a long time. And the original records were not computerized.
All this is a drop on the bucket. They have all they ever need and it’s untraceable by civilians.
So I see these things as just propaganda to instill fear and uncertainty in the population. Why? Many reasons ranging from a threat to a false flag operation. Or they could simply put this out there, cancel it and then half America ‘feels good’. But they still have what they need a thousand times over.
