No way she is black!

Doesn't matter. If she claims to be black, then she IS black.

The issue with the school buses wasn’t entirely Nagin’s fault. The school district stalled because they wanted payment for their use. Then it became moot anyway because nobody thought to inform the bus DRIVERS that they would be needed, so they had all evacuated themselves by the time the bureaucratic haggling finally ended.

To the author of this, ahem, ‘piece’.

I, a half-breed Mojave, am a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. I claimed no special benefits, privileges, fiscal disbursements.

Once the storm passed, and the waters receded, with what I had in my two hands, I left with other travelers, determined to make a new life for ourselves, elsewhere.

I did, and am now, retired.

This malarkey ‘descendants of slaves’ died with the last living slave. This ‘black lives matter’ is just a REPLACEMENT for ‘my family were slaves’, and along with that, the REPLACEMENT for the statement, ‘I am an American (no hyphen), and proud of it.’

This malarkey is a continuation of a Democratic theorem, that the Negro cannot do anything for himself, and we must do everything for him, including thinking, financing, feeding, and housing.

Those of us from low-income communities of color are on the frontlines of the climate crisis...One has only to recall the gut-wrenching images of Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath to confirm this.

The color I remember is Yellow... Yellow school buses under water because a mayor "of color" did not use those buses to evacuate "Those ... from low-income communities of color (who) are on the frontlines of the climate crisis" because they choose to live in a city BELOW SEA LEVEL.

Perhaps if they would take a visit to the "people of (white) color who live in the Netherlands, they could find a solution to their problem. That, or just move to higher ground...

BTW, "...Frontlines of climate crisis..." NOAA: Hurricane Drought Hits Record 118 Months

Never mind that this catastrophe was caused by a levee failure and government's refusal to allow private benefactors to do their work.

and our communities continue to get hit time and time again by climate catastrophe

a.k.a. bad weather, which also has hit my neighborhood with such nasties as Sandy, Nika (ice storm) and the famous Snowmageddon.

Well, at least the oncoming climate catastrophe has not affected the food supply in her neighborhood.
