Sounds like the global governance crowd might just be preemptively countering this...

Earth heading for 'mini ice age' in just 15 years, scientists say
UPI ^ | Updated July 11, 2015 | Doug G. Ware

Solar scientists predict that the Earth will enter a "mini ice age" around 2030 due to decreased activity by the sun, which will bring with it frigid cold winters. The last time the Earth experienced a similar situation occurred between 1645 and 1715.

I call this "Witch Hunt" logic.

To test somebody to see if they are a witch you try to get them to confess by dunking them to the point of drowning or piling stones on their chest. If the admit to being a witch you stop the trial. You immediately find them guilty of witchcraft and execute them. OTH If they don't confess you keep the trial going going until they die.

This is the same "logic" employed here.

My understanding is, that we’re in an interglacial period. According to what I’ve read, glacial periods are very long, and the interglacial warm periods, not so much.

And yea, 4WD sucks on ice. Make sure you get chains. Guess studded snow tires will be making a comeback.

What caused the last ice age? What caused it too warm and melt?

“...Dokoupil goes on to cite the 2004 disaster-flick “Day After Tomorrow,”....”

I always give a lot of credence to a Climate Change Alarmist “Scientist” (and I use the term hestantly) who cites Hollywood climate change pimp’s propaganda movies.

You know you are dealing with crackpot ‘science’ when you have an undetectable phenomenon (e.g. global avg temp increase over the last decade) which is claimed to cause effect A (heat death of the Earth) and to cause its opposite (global ice catastrophy).

This could drop vast stretches of Asia into drought and expose the entire Northern Hemisphere to severe ice and snow. “This change would be sudden and sharp enough to roil civilization—happening in as little as three years and resulting in as much as an 18-degree Fahrenheit drop in average temperatures,”

or not.

It is amazing how these so-called scientists, politicians, Libs can connect dots from many previous millennia to a billion eons into the future regarding global warming/climate change.

But they cannot find motives for the most recent mass shootings, nor see how Islamist terrorism is linked to incidents, nor see any problems with Hillary deleting thousands of emails.

Actually, this is not new — the theory that ice ages are triggered by a warming of the Arctic shutting down thermohaline currents in the Atlantic predates the politicized attempt to blame human fossil fuel use for “global warming”. I’d heard of it decades ago.

These Global Warming folks saw what the Margarine and Vegetable Oil folks pulled off and think they can do the same.
Algore has never had an original thought, some folks took a scam that worked in the past and just ran it by Algore with a twist and it has grown into this BS

If you believe the "consensus science", man has caused Global Warming. If man caused it, then man can stop it. As a result, alarmists have provided us with list upon list of what we can do personally to combat Global Warming.

But wait a moment. If it's now Global COOLING, do we take those lists and do the exact opposite? What do we do to fight man-caused Global COOLING?

Inquiring minds want to know.

.... Sounds like the ClimoNazis are in full ass covering mode as they realize that the solid evidence they based their doctrine on actually points in the opposite direction of their "Settled Science" ....... Which of course proves the old cliche' .... Garbage in ... Garbage Out.

.... But of course they are doing this by stating that Global Warming will cool the earth down. I do have a question however .... if this is the case ..... What the heck would the evidence of Global Cooling be?
