Watching the French debate, and all the parties except the CPC are on their hug a refugee kick. Either they are ill informed or simply want the rag head vote. We know the shiny pony was stumping in mosques for votes. Canada is a small country and accepts over 200,000 refugee claimants a year. Our acceptance rate of applications is almost 50%! For comparison the UK accepts only 15% of applicants. We are a laughing stock, literally. At a meeting of national immigration officials, when the Canadian officials told the other delegates we accept at a rate of 50%, they actually laughed their heads off. Essentially our officials and judiciary takes the applicants at their word.

To be fair this is ONE poll. It is a poll worth looking at because it has a decent polling base, over 2000. But so does the Leger poll today which has the Liberals leading. I hope it keeps up. Surely the nation hasn't lost its collective head to put the dippers in power, or the boy child Trudeau. I hated Cretien, but he is thrice the man the shiny pony is.

Possibly. Bill C 51, the disastrous security bill with no measures for over sight could work against the Conservatives there.

Sadly, unlike the English west, who always seem a need to apologize for their culture to the point of cultural suicide, Quebecers want to preserve their unique culture.

IF this trend continues there are many hopeful things in this poll. I take the age breakdown with a grain of salt, as the sample is so small, but previous polls showed the CPC leading ONLY in the 65 and over crowd. In this poll, the CPC leads in ALL age groups. It may also be that part of the undecided made up their mind. The undecided which hovered around 12% has fallen to 6%.
