Jim Jordan.
Gohmert or Massie
Anyone they pick is going to be a dead man walking, politically speaking, if he doesn’t immediately show progress against amnesty, sodomous “marriage”, and obamacare.
Have you learned nothing?
Who wants it? Who can win it? Whos the most conservative?
Those are the three critical questions in order. You might not like it, but thats reality.
Remember that politics isnt all or nothing, but more or less. This is a major opportunity, not a search for the perfect candidate.
NOT.
But, good review, for reference.
Remember....the Speaker is NUMBER THREE, in line to the Presidency. Wields a LOT of power....controls purse strings, etc.
We want someone who will work with Trump/Cruz to turn this mess around...not deliver more of the same old same old.
Just a thought.....but the Speaker doesn’t have to be a congress critter.
I nominate Ted Nugent.
Below is a list of the Republican lawmakers who voted against Boehner:
Justin Amash (R-Mich.) Brian Babin (R-Texas) Rod Blum (R-Iowa) Dave Brat (R-Va.) Jim Bridenstine (R-Okla.) Curt Clawson (R-Fla.) Scott DesJarlais (R-Tenn.) Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) Scott Garrett (R-N.J.) Chris Gibson (R-N.Y.) Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) Walter Jones (R-N.C.) Steve King (R-Iowa) Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) Richard Nugent (R-Fla.) Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) Bill Posey (R-Fla.) Scott Rigell (R-Va.) Marlin Stutzman (R-Ind.) Randy Weber (R-Texas) Daniel Webster (R-Fla.) Ted Yoho (R-Fla.)
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
So there is your complete list of acceptable candidates.
I appreciate the post and it certainly go the discussion going, so good job.
These orgs that rate our politicians are problematic.
One rates them high, and another rates them deep in the pack.
Reading down thread (from this post), I note there is already contradicting standards.
This makes it difficult for the average well meaning Republican. Who do they listen to, or where do they go to find out who is best?
Perhaps it would be best to pull from a number of places and compare how the House members are graded.
At any rather, just some thoughts.
We have Boehner leaving, and it is imperative we drive home a Conservative replacement. This will be our last chance for five years, and we shouldn’t blow it.
Off the top of my (Iowan) head, I can't think of anything on which I disagree with him.
Some might say his tactics are occasionally over-the-top but, that's okay by me.
As you well know, Iowa libs HATE HIM LIKE NO OTHER.
Scratch Ryan. He has already said he doesn’t want the job.
:)
I like that, as long as they settle on the right guy.
It HAS TO BE the right person.
About 28 members of the TX delegation to the HOR need to be primaried, not made Speaker. Gohmert is a Judge. But we don’t need to get all TX-top-heavy. Jeff Duncan SC is a great idea, too. We should look at current Commitee chairs and members to find a good Generalist Patriot whose ACL rating is 85 or above.
Those are the three critical questions in order. You might not like it, but thats reality.

Yep the art of the deal is most likely to rule in this selection. Far ends
of the specturm aren’t likely to be in the mix no matter how many times is churned.
Paul Ryan doesn’t want the job.
The best use of Paul Ryan is on entitlement reform.
Stop eating our young.
