Hensarling would be my pick. He was my congressman in Texas and takes no prisoners.

KEVIN McCARTHY (Boehner’s choice to succeed him as Speaker)

PROS:
Republican (not that THAT means anything any more!)

CONS:
Boehner’s handpicked Majority Leader. (And we all know how suspect was Boehner’s judgement.)
From California (Not that they’re all nuts out there, but most of them ARE seriously deranged.)
Ranked 142 of the 435 members of the House (a B-)
(Boehner was a C and ranked 221)
Supports AMNESTY!

THEN THERE IS THIS. There are numerous reports that McCarthy, who is married, had or is having an affair with a married female member of Congress. Please do your OWN research if you believe this could be a problem for McCarthy. Here’s why it could be:
During the effort to impeach Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich was having a “secret” (to everyone outside the Beltway) affair with Calista Bassick (who is now his wife). It’s believed in some quarters that the Democrats used the threat of going public with that information to keep Gingrich quiet during the impeachment effort. It worked and Clinton survived. Although with all the skeletons in their closets, the Dems would have to be nuts to do so (that said, I give you Debbie Wasseman Schultz!), do we really need another MARRIED high GOP official who may have trouble keeping his pants on and could easily be blackmailed if he refuses to go along to get along?

For what it’s worth, one final comment: I list below 9 folks who would quickly get MY support for Speaker. They are the top ranked Reps. at GRADEGOV.COM. These folks are pretty hard core conservatives and may not even have a chance to win the slot given the number of spineless weasels STILL in office up there.
That said, I’d ask you to remember that it was PREVIOUS MIDDLE OF THE ROADERS who got us into this mess. And the two things most often found in the middle of the road are DEAD SKUNKS and YELLOW STREAKS!

RANKING ARE FROM GRADEGOV.COM AND BASED ON VOTES CAST BY CITIZENS!
1.R. Blum (R) IA-1st
A
2.D. Brat (R) VA
A
3.C. Clawson (R) FL
A
4.MARTHA Roby (R) AL-2nd
A
5.T. Gowdy (R) SC-4th
A
6.B. Posey (R) FL-8th
A-
7.M. Lee (R) UT
A-
8.J. Wilson (R) SC-2nd
A-
9.L. Gohmert (R) TX-1st
A-
PS: I’d love to see Trey Gowdy get the job but would be happy with any of these folks. Trey as speaker would have the Dems and RINOs wetting themselves!
PPS: Martha Roby would be an excellent choice just to watch Pelosi burst into flames on the floor!!

Fellow Georgian DR. TOM PRICE RANKED 29 (A SOLID “B”)

I believe it is Weber, whoever that is, that Gomert had voted for last election, and Hensarling voted for Weber, also.

I know nothing about him, particularly, but that these staunch conservatives approved of him.

I also have been very pleased by Jim Jordan, when I have seen him in action, on the Benghazi Committee, and also Chaffitz, on that same committee.

The Conservative Caucus should already have this figured out and unite behind their best choice. But, do they have a plan?

I just heard Louie Gomert on Hannity radio and he said Hensarling has said no, Ryan (a pox on his head) has said no and that all the conservatives are saying no to McCarthy.

Gomert also said he didn’t want it and was pushing Daniel Webster from Fla, I believe.

Gohmert and King are conservative warriors although I would doubt they would get enough support to be speaker. It will be Ryan or some other middle of the roader.

“the Speaker doesn’t have to be a congress critter.”

I didn’t know that. Opens opens up so many possibilities...

Is this the real reason he was crying so much yesterday? Seriously, dude has some damn emotional problems, I didn’t cry that much when I was 5.

Posey is solid. I’m not sure about being speaker, though.

I was hoping someone would mention either the Nuge or Sarah Palin.

EITHER one would be glorious!

Yes of the 5 Tom Price from my State would be best then Hensarling after that. The others are pretty much all the same. But its going to be McCarthy who is a sober Boehner.

That is who Huelskamp voted for speaker last time too.

” Jeb Hensarling, who announced through a spokeswoman Friday he is “considering his options” and will have a decision by early next week on the leadership races.”

I can still hope!

He’s an effing lush. This imbecile should never have been returned to leadership, let alone rewarded with the Speakership. If you’re not going to fight against the most corrupt regime in the White House, step the hell down and get out of the way for those who will (and that goes for the entire elected leadership in both houses).

He’s from Texas which is the biggest delegation.

Louie Gohmert is also from Texas and has my support.

I am not so sure about Hencerling. I am going to have to look a lil deeper before I put a happy face on this guy.
