Oh yes! A new GOP is a guaranteed certainty!

A GOP NOT beholden to those entrenched lobbyists and entrenched fossil incumbents!

The smart ones will hop aboard the TRUMP Train when (or if.. hear that Jeb?) he wins the nomination and IMHO, the brilliant ones should already be on the Trump Train right now.

Need to winnow out the opportunists, Kelly Ayotte being a prime example. Willing to pass as a TEA party candidate to get money and support and then coalescing around GOPe. There’s a word that rhymes with oar...

I think that is the problem with the GOP. They’re not.

Regarding the title of the referenced article, the Republic Party became extinct long ago imo. So if, by mentioning the ”Republican Party” in the context of the ”conservative” front-end for the corrupt Washington cartel, the Post is really wants to say that Trump is a poison pill for the Washington cartel, then I basically agree.

H O W E V E R ...

If patriots actually think that Trump is going to be able to clean up the Washington mess by himself then they are sadly mistaken imo. The Constitution will not let him do it.

More specifically, patriots are going to have to support Trump by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress, a Congress that is willing to work within its constitutional Article I, Section-8 limited powers to support Trumps vision for the USA.

An added bonus of a new Congress is that it will be able to fire activist justices.

I’m quite sure the washington post has nothing but the best interests of the republican party in mind.

Whatever. The elites have lost the consent of the people to govern. They should be grateful that an opportunity to resolve this at the polls still remains.

"If elected as GOP president wouldn't Trump become the the Head of the GOP just as Dubya was as a matter of custom and tradition His election would have some serious coat tails and could effect greater change in the GOP. Get rid of all those unknown to the public RNC stooges put in place by insiders. There would be one very raucous battle if Priebus et al decided to keep fighting him after forcing a pledge so early.
Marcella, with your background and party work, what say you?"

"With TRUMP, we have a wrecking ball to the GOPEEE in DC. These people are no friend to the country! No Democrat could vote worse than this train load of GOPEE saboteurs.
Yes, and it may very well become a NEW GOP. Not the corrupt crony capitalist party of the entrenched big government uni-party overlords, but a party of the liberty-loving, hard-working, Judeo-Christian patriots who want their country back. Oh yes! A new GOP is a guaranteed certainty!"

Well, Covenantor, what I say is most people do not know how the Republican National Committee comes about (You call them "those unknown to the public RNC stooges put in place by insiders". I will explain that.

I will also address these posts about what Trump can/will do: All the posts above about Trump using a wrecking ball against the GOP, a NEW GOP, the party becoming a party of liberty-locing, hard-working, Judeo-Christian patriots who want their country back, a new GOP is a guaranteed certainty, are high on Trump amphetamine. They are not thinking clearly because they are avoiding laws and rules that prevent Trump from doing as they wish. They are seeing him as a benevolent dictator who can do whatever he wants when he wants, regardless of the constitution and laws. Most of these people who are dreaming these dreams, are my friends, but the truth about the matter is the truth, not dreams.

I will repeat how members are chosen for the Republican National Committee, including the chairman, who now is Reince Priebus. Every one of you people on this thread have two representatives on that committee and that committee elects their chairman. At your Republican State Convention, you elect one woman and one man to be on that national committee. Do you know who your representatives are? If not, why not? You can go to your State Republican website and find them there. They are not, as you said, "unknown to the public RNC stooges put in place by insiders". Your own Republicans in your state elected them.

I would go to our state convention, and the men and women who wanted to be on that national committee would go around giving out papers about themselves. At some point, an election was held and the man/woman would be selected. There is no way Trump can throw out any of these duly elected representatives OR the chairman. Those committee members vote for the people who have signed up to be elected chairman. The committee votes and the person is selected.

It is true the Republican President is considered the head of the party but he cannot cancel the power of the states to elect their representatives to that committee, nor the chairman.

There are posts on here about Trump getting rid of duly elected senators the poster doesn’t like, such as McCain, McConnell, and Graham. This is a constitutional "republic" country and each state elects their senators, two from each state. Trump has no power to dispose of senators. Remember, these senators are elected by citizens in their states. It was proven long ago, that public opinion in the country may be negative about a senator or other elected representative, but his state citizens like him/her, and that is what counts, and they are usually reelected regardless of their general negative opinion nationally. Citizens will complain about those elected to office, but, if asked, they like theirs, it is the other office holders they do not like - the ones which are outside their elective boundaries.
