[[How are these purchases tracked? ]]

Background checks to ‘see if the person is eligible to buy ammo’

[[They criminalize, harass and demonize gun owners for essentially being gun owners.]]

Precisely- Murderers are free and clear in ‘sanctuary cities’ but let a country boy, never in trouble in his life, buy 14 bullets instead of 14, and he’s now a class E felon, will be arrested and spend 4 years in prison

[[The Senate and Assembly bills were drafted in an effort to keep potential terrorists from stocking up on ammo, ]]

BS- they know damn well terrorists don’t give a crap about laws- this bill is designed to keep ammo out of the hands of law abiding citizens!

[[The legislation would place a strict limit on the number of bullets a gun owner could purchase over a 90-day time period,]]

Yeah because our constitution specifically forbids buying over a certain amount of ammo per month... oh wait

[[and prevent gun dealers from selling ammunition for a firearm to anyone unauthorized to have such a weapon.]]

And by unauthorized they of course mean that they will ask each potential buyer “Do you plan on becoming a terrorist In the next 10 years?” If they answer yes, then they will be ‘unqualified’ to buy ammo

[[Penalty for the violation of this law would also be increased from a Class B misdemeanor, or not more than three months in jail and not more than $500 in fines, to a Class E felony, or up to four years in prison with a minimum of one year.]]

In the meantime dear leader lets 80,000 VIOLENT criminals go from prison before their terms are up- murderers, rapists, thieves, abusers, pedophiles etc- but by golly NY is going to imprison icky gun owners if they purchase 13 bullets a month instead of 12, and make these people into class E felons so they can never own another gun in their life-

NY is expert in creating burgeoning black markets. Cf., e.g., cigarettes.

>>Since the measure would cap the amount of ammunition to no more than twice the amount of the capacity of the weapon every 90 days<<

Good grief. Liberals are so F’n ignert!

So I sezz to myseff...seff, what's to keep a fella from taking a week off of work for vacation, drive to a state that supports 2nd amendment rights and has no regulation on ammo? Purchase 200 rounds...go back home.

Again...liberals are pretty damn dumb.

This law is flawed. Very few gun owners buy bullets.

Never had an ammo issue. Roll 12 boxes an hour on a Hornady turret press.

You need to buy a lifetime supply of primers and powder due to current Hazmat laws. No one cares about lead and brass now (yet).

They WANT honest gun owners to violate the law.

They want to be able to arrest any gun owner, and if they find a box of ammo in his house that came from a lot # made after enactment of the law, and which did not come from an authorized NY sale, they can put him in prison for years.

The name of the game is to be able to take out anyone deemed “troublesome”, at will.

When I was a kid in MD, truckloads of cigarettes would go north to New York with no NY tax stamps. The mob sold them like hotcakes, and got fat. Just another racket since prohibition went away. The price split then between North Carolina and New York was substantial.

Now there will be another illicit market, another source of 'criminal' revenue.

Otherwise, people who have concealed carry permits aren't going to be able to shoot any better than the police. Handgun skills are perishable. Only constant practice keeps one adept.

It's a 5 station revolving turret reloading press. Shown on right side of bench. It mates brass, primer, powder and bullet to create a cartridge.
