I thought Rush wasn’t fat any more?

Actually, after reading the transcript he is right. Either Trump feels pressure from Cruz and is reaching out for the Indie, Moderate and Dem vote (open primary), or he’s looking for to score a YUGE victory to give the air of inevitability (a little early for that, though).

Rush is simply acting as an informed person, like many of us, that a candidate with an ultra-liberal, big government, statist agenda, that has openly attacked conservatives and what we stand for, is leading in the Republican race. That’s the agenda you support, and not the agenda Rush supports. It appears many people just like a good show over principle and we thought people on our side were more discerning than this, but apparently not. We are no different than the Democrats who were enamored with Obama - it’s purely a personality cult and Trump is in people’s minds whatever they want him to be - not what he actually is.

“What makes you think you can win the general election with only 35-40% of the vote.”

After the Two Cubans drop out and stop sucking up all the air, Trump will have 75-80% of pubbies, and a solid majority of the electorate.

It could be he’s trying to incorporate democrat blue collar voters into his base.

The old Reagan coalition included blue collar democrats. They are more libertarian now than then in many things, but they are protective of jobs and industries in America that provide jobs.

I’m sure you do know that Clinton could have neutralized Bin Laden. He didn’t.

The next president could have taken pre-emptive action if Bin Laden were on his radar.

Was Trump aware of Bin Laden’s intentions? We’re the hijackers known to US intelligence agencies?

The right president could have, not would have, but could have asked questions and made decisions and, perhaps with a little luck, taken out Bin Laden and thwarted the attack.

....”Trump’s “base” is MoveOn.org. The conservative base is with Cruz”....

I call them Obama-nites with Trump....same group though some are scattered with Sanders as well.....just depends on where the rallies are because those people show up for anything free and a sense of “belonging”....and why Trumps rallies grow and grow....it’s the happening place to be for them....and they get to see a celebrity for free.

I also heard that the unsavory activist groups are also showing up....like they do at other venues where large groups gather...

He also played up one or two point fluctuations in the polls. Not the Rush I remember.

“hook, line, and sinker”

My years in the army says there are better commanders and there are worse commanders. Force protection was always a huge issue, and you really got just one shot at doing it right.

Getting force protection wrong and getting a calamity on your watch and on your efficiency report was a promotion killer if not a career killer.

Generals tend to be either lucky, guys who never had something they didn’t catch in time, or they were actually that good. They never had something sneak up on them that they didn’t catch in time.

I understand Patton was ahead of Eisenhower on Hitler’s buildup for the Battle of the Bulge. He’d already had his intel and ops people working on it for days, so when asked he astounded them by saying he could have multiple divisions in support in hours.

He saw it coming.

I did not watch the debate on Saturday because I went with my son to Florida to pick up a Harley he had bought, but I had set my DVR before we left to record it. After we came back on Sunday afternoon I watched it later in the evening and today I watched it again.

I was so disgusted by his behavior. First his demeanor at the moment of silence for Justice Scalia at the beginning of the debate.

While all the other candidates bowed their head, he stood there like a klutz with his head held high, as if the death of Justice Scalia meant nothing to him. (As a democrat that he still is despite claiming he is now a Republican, it probably meant nothing to him.

Americans love Trump. It cuts across demographics. It will be needed to win the General Election.

Well, if the Conservative base is with Ted Cruz, it means it is only 20% or so of the Party, so I guess Donald Trump can win without it. Especially when he is going to have the MoveOn.org vote as well.

As long as he opposes funding abortion he’s good with most conservatives.

Trump is forming a big coalition by advancing the policies that are supported by conservatives and moderates, and not advancing policies that are opposed by either group.
Cruz just advances conservative policies and counts on forming a coalition by persuading moderates to accept them.
A noble plan but a much more difficult task than Trump’s.

So, once again, I am told that I need to choose between men who have been the conservative standard bearers for decades (Rush, Mark Levin, Sowell) and a man who not only hasn’t been conservative in the past, but who actually praised Planned Parenthood at a Republican debate! Anyone who says anything negative about Trump must be excommunicated. It’s like a damn cult or something!

No candidate is perfect. I’ll vote for the Republican nominee (because all of them are better than Romney or McInsane... well except Jeb). But the way that Trump and his supporters are tearing down all of conservatism and its allies, who is he going to have left when he’s done? Who will be left to expand conservatism when everyone who dares point out any flaws in Trump must be destroted? This doesn’t sound like Trump is an advocate for conservatism. He’s willing to destroy it to win...
