I disagree. I think Cruz’s internals are ok.

In fact, Rubio, Cruz, Sanders, and Clinton have higher numbers (or close) on “honesty” “shares my values.” On “experience,’ a stunning 97% of polled people say Hillary has the experience. But when asked to prioritize the issues on which they vote, it comes down to two things:

“leadership” (Trump leads) and “jobs”

By 4:1 18-44 say economy/jobs most important, and about 2:1 or 3:1 overall people say more important than terorism. Health care in low single digits-—EVEN WITH DEMS health care is low double digits.

Also, Trump scores VERY high with “born again/evangelicals” as well as “very conservative” (little lower than Cruz, but high) and super high with “somewhat conservative”

If I’m Rubio or Cruz (or Cankles or Sanders) I think this is a good poll for me. But you’d be overlooking those two key areas, “leadership” and “jobs.”

Years ago there was a thread on how to manipulate a poll to make your opponent look bad or to get the opponent you want. It was very informative. Obviously many peoples are aware that the negatives can be manipulated

Hypothetical matchups this far out are a complete waste of time.

Don’t you remember how Romney needed to be the nominee because he “crushed” Obama in the hypotheticals?

It’s about as useful as saying Ted Cruz is the only candidate who can beat Big Bird in November.

These matchups are a misleading way for the Establishment to foist their candidates on you. It plants the seed in your head that your candidate is doomed, and their candidate is the only hope.

That’s exactly right. These hypothetical races/approval rating ferry tales are only pushed by those whose candidate is losing the real votes.

Congress had a 11% approval rating. 96% were reelected. I wouldn’t spend 1 second worrying about hypotheticals right now for the general. It’s all smoke to distract from failure, IMO.

I don’t know why Cruz just doesn’t get out of this race. He has no chance of winning. Our number one issue is making America great again. Our number two issue is putting America back to work. Our number three issue is restoring our military and honoring our veterans. CRUZ has no idea how to accomplish any of these. There has never been a successful president from the ranks of the Senate because all they know is double speak and hot air. We need a man to lead this country with a proven record of achievement and success. GO TRUMP!

Oh, and I might add, there is a lot of bitterness between FReepers and it is disturbing. We sound like a bunch of liberals. Can’t we be decent with each other?

Indeed, the Cruz Pants on Fire Crowd is in serious denial.

Straw, meet grasp.

“radical justices to the court”

Can you cite any evidence for that, other than an assertion made by Cruz?

Cruz supporters whine that Trump is terrible....not a Godly man.

So true.....Donald never gave a sermon like Ted did.

Ted Cruz is an advocate of the New World Order.....Christian Dominionism Branch.

Last Sunday, church goers heard Cruz preach about the biblical role of government.

Coincidentally (cough), many of Cruz/s political positions.....like economic libertarianism and TPP....also fit into the far-out Dominionist teachings Cruz learned form his father/s preaching.

The elder Cruz preaches to Dominionist audiences, and tells his congregants that Rev 5:10 teaches that Christians are divided into Kings and Priests,.....the kings (politicians) go out and conquer the financial world and bring the money back to the priests (pastors in contemporary terms).

Ted and Heidi Cruz/s economic libertarianism also dovetails nicely w/ globalist Goldman/Sachs---who financed Ted into office .G/S is Heidi's $700,000 a year employer. So it looks like the Cruz/s have a head start in getting money back to the pastors.

====================================

Cruz should tell voters: <><> what role does he plan for his preacher father in the US govt, <><> what govt job does he plan to give his G/S globalist lawyer wife?

Well you’re wrong. I know that offends you but I voted for him against Dewhurst here in Texas AND defended him on various lib rag sites over various comments and actions he has taken in the Senate.

I have followed him on twitter for years and continue to get his campaign emails (tons of them, asking for money).

Cruz has changed. His entire demeanor has changed. I don’t know if it’s the hired guns for this campaign or his donors that are influencing him.

I’m not going to spend any more time trying to convince you or anyone of the fact I was in the Cruz camp until about 5 mos ago. Then I was split between Cruz and Trump. Now I am no longer in the Cruz camp. Even if I wanted to be, I am not ‘pure enough’ nor would I be welcomed. My thinking doesn’t fall in line with rigid ideology required.

I’m a Trump supporter, but also support any and all candidates getting in or staying in the race. Having a voice is very important to the health of our republic. Ted represents the voice of those that supports his positions and they need to be heard, just as all voices. The voters will decide which one resonates more with them.

Wonder what he and Bill Clinton talked about before he announced.

Probably told Bill and Hill to get ready for a rough ride.

I agree! He’s real! He’s not some stone-cold political parrot. He made lots of faces during the press conference yesterday. You notice, he looked everyone in the eye, time and time again.

The man has mettle!

“don’t claim to be a conservative and support ethanol, Planned Parenthood, radical justices to the court, big government doing big things, TARP, Stimulus, universal care......”

You don’t get to decide what I get to claim or if that makes me Conservative or not. Take the log out of your own eye and don’t worry about me.

Well this for sure means Trump has peaked and is finished.

He peaked at 20%, 30%, now 40%.

When he exceeds 50% that will really, really be the end. So days Karl rove and Zogby.

‘Forget about Hillary.
Her candidacy won’t survive six more weeks.’

+1

I’ve been saying for mos that the assumption she will be the nominee is premature. Nothing has happened to change my mind.

If Cruz can beat Hillary, how come he loses more than 2 to 1 against Trump?

To paraphrase Karl Rove, if Cruz could get above 25 percent he would have already done so, it’s because he has a low ceiling.
