UPDATE 2 (11:47 AM): The Cruz campaign is now walking back its initial denial, while not quite admitting the image is fake. "If Rubio has a better picture of him shaking hands with Barack Obama I'm happy to swap it out," Spokesman Rick Tyler told CNN. "Two days before presidential primary in South Carolina, they want to talk about a picture we used."

Meanwhile, Internet sleuths have tracked down the stock photo that was the basis for the photoshop the Cruz campaign won't say is a photoshop.

This guy Rick Tyler is a real piece of work.

The Cruz campaign professionals have mismanaged this campaign, and have destroyed whatever chance Ted Cruz had.

It has been one unforced error after another.

Yes, I finally caught up. I went to the link provided on the 2nd line of the post first and commented on that. The other one is definitely as bogus as the day is long. Ted's actions in this campaign have been a real eye-opener for sure. No wonder he has been so hated by his colleagues.

I still contend that neither he or Rubio are qualified due to their birth statuses, and now I am really starting to not have as much support or respect for Ted as I used to have.

Sorry, Rubio is shaking with his right hand. I am certainly no supporter of Rubio, Trump all the way, but that statement is an out-an-out lie. Not sure about the, rest of the article because I stopped reading right there.

There was multiple pictures, one showed left hand shaking and the other right hand shaking. Obama is left handed, Rubio is right handed. So which hand is used I imagine would be determined by who lead first. Obviously someone is going to be using their off hand.

Expectations of Cruz are off the scale.....it's a race...games are played....insults and such are commonplace.......but especially Trumpeter's should be showing more tolerance than any others with the mouth their candidate has on him.....and the new found freedom of NOT being politically correct....looks like they expect that for everyone but Trump.... I say go at it guys and may the best man win! There just ads for crying out loud!

At the time I defended team Trump on that video. Video relies on visuals. The picture was irrelevant to the substance of the point. On this “shook hands with Obama on immigration” the same principle applies. That video shows actual footage of Obama and Rubio — back and forth — point by point making the exact same talking points on immigration. “Shook hands with” was figurative. Obviously it is irrelevant whether they shook hands literally but is relevant that they “shook hands” figuratively. Photoshop is legitimately used to illustrate a figurative concept.

I also thought a picture illustrating immigration in general was ok to use as an illustration of the specific problem of immigration from Mexico.

How sleazy to use Photoshop in a political ad to illustrate an opponents positions. I bet it has never been done before, it is an unprecedented outrage to use a graphic that is not an untouched original photograph. I also noticed an ad used by Cruz where words appeared on a photo and those words were certainly not on the original photograph and must have been added later by some nasty dirty trick. I know that neither Trump or his supporters would ever stoop to such dirty tricks.

Well gee. That’s pretty obvious metaphor. Clearly not an eyewitness photo denoting evidence any more than a cartoon is.
