It has been going on in the cities here with illegals forever, too-but in rural areas that are not close to the border, illegals are beyond unwelcome, and therefore not a big problem-we just call la migra on them-since there are not a lot of jobs at the best of times, and most jobs are blue collar. And in bad times like this, even the green cards holders are unwelcome, because they are still cheap labor, so the tourist traps like guest ranches and resorts hire them instead of local US citizens-jobs should be for citizens first, period...

Absolutely. The US gov’t was a small faction of the GDP. That ended early in the 20th century and gov’t growth accelerated until now. There is absolutely a direct relationship between the growth of government and the shrinkage of the economy and average individual wealth.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time trusting him to actually stand on this issue, as he has not been consistent.

In 2013 he spoke on immigration saying, "For people that have been here for years, that have been hard workers, that have good jobs, they are supporting a family...it's very, very tough to just say 'You have to leave. Get out.' How do you throw somebody out that's lived in this country for twenty years? You just can't throw everybody out."
