Looks like, come hell or high-water, the RNC insists on having a brokered convention. Trump is unacceptable to them. So even if he has 1237 delegates in the bag (pledged to him in the first ballot) going into the July convention, they will find some pretext to stop him.

So today we hear that Rubio, Kasich, and Cruz, after much soul-searching, have declared that they might not be able in good conscience to support the nominee of the GOP -- if it's Donald Trump, that is, even with his 1237 ballots in hand.

So of course there is a cabal of people devoted to ensuring Trump doesn't get 1237 ballots. The main strategy is to blame Trump for inciting, aiding and abetting violence on the campaign trail. Cruz rose (or sank???) to the occasion today, accusing Donald Trump of having done such things, so he shouldn't complain if the violence he himself originally fomented is returned unto him. Blame the victim. Even more so for not having stepped up to personally denounce the violence with, I gather, a personal apology for having fomented it in the first place. Then, only then, can Trump demonstrate that he is fit to be POTUS.

What a crock. Cruz is a total creep; he should be ashamed of himself. But then, maybe the guy is just shameless. An opportunistic parvenu. I gather he rates his chances as better in a brokered convention than by the primary/caucus route.

Looks like we've got quite a good conspiracy going on here, something worthy of "wise guys."

I am sickened by all this. Looks like some kind of coup d'etat is being perpetrated here, against We the People of the United States of America. If We the People send Donald Trump to the convention with the requisite 1237 votes, and the RNC throws up a stumbling block to his nomination, so to seat their own fair-haired boy, then I will know for a certainty that the U.S.A. is no longer a democratic, constitutional republic; it has been transformed into an unaccountable oligarchy, formed of the fusion of federal government, political party, and private business interests, serving its own exclusive interests. The relations among these parties are multifarious, intricate; but they all reduce to matters of money and power. The status quo is beneficial to all the parties concerned. Nobody wants to rock the boat, lest their own power, prestige, connections, and financial well-being be threatened.

They detest Trump; but I swear they fear Trump even more: He's a world-class boat rocker, and he speaks very plainly.... And he doesn't owe anybody anything, except the people who put their confidence in him as the best-qualified candidate for POTUS.

Our government is thoroughly corrupt. Our political parties are thoroughly corrupt. And it appears that not a few public figures on-stage right now are rotten to the core.

And if the RNC gets its way, one of these rotten apples will be our next president.
