All this chatter about the GOPe forcing a brokered convention and inserting their guy at the expense of Trump and Cruz is a bunch of nonsense.
Even if Trump does not win the 1237 delegates outright (a long shot), he will easily have at least 1000 worst case. Cruz will end up with 700+ in that scenario. Trump and Cruz will simply join forces to block out the GOPe. As unlikely as that seems today, given the animosity between them, a Trump/Cruz ticket is almost a certainty if Trump doesn't reach the 1237. If Trump does reach the 1237 on his own, then Trump controls his destiny and may choose a different running mate.
No matter how it turns out, no way do the GOPe prevent Trump from being on the top of the ticket.
Apparently few if any of the posters responding to this thread noticed that Richard Hass, president of CFR is a Trump adviser.
BTW FOX news had to point out tonight that kasich won Ohio last Tuesday possibly sending the nominating proces to a brokered convention.
I agree.
Hope you are right.
Not nearly as much.
LOL. Did you also hear they found Romney's station wagon blocking highway traffic to a Trump rally? They didn't recognize the vehicle but there was a dog left on the roof of the car that gave it away. :)
If so, it will be the largest political wake in history.
Trump has all the right enemies.
Hope you're right - it distresses me that Cruz (who I donated lots to before deciding Trump had the best chance) has vowed to play spoiler until the bitter end - his only chance to capitalize would be by making deals with (and trusting) those who want to keep turning the cranks themselves and he would likely be betrayed (fitting in this case) and either way, we probably end up with Hillary as President because many would finally be turned off by Cruz's antics.
