That’s the American spirit! Waiting for my impending doom, while hoping Uncle Sam will come and save me.

The other people on the thread need to understand this facet of the argument. All the riches we’re spoiled with will be nothing but pretty toys WHEN (not if, it will happen for some reason at some point) the trade lanes get disrupted or one of our major sources of spoon-feeding has a revolution or natural disaster that wipes out the supply at the source.

Trade in some form is good.

The form of trade my generation grew up with amounts to “take all our skilled labor, our factories and an increasing amount of low-level workers in return for cheap plastic goods”. That is NOT good.

Faux Business is unwatchable. The TDS combined with the Cheap Labor Express propaganda is just too much.

Add tariffs and others will lose their jobs.

You mean factory workers in China get laid off? Good.

Your example is stupid as Wal Mart is nothing but a fancy self service warehouse. Even with tariffs they will sell just almost as much. If they sell 5% less I am not sure that even equates to a 5% personnel reduction. Nice try, no sale.

You stateless Free Traitors™ freaks can throw Americans under the bus with such ease.

Precisely. Even at double that figure with 10% less - which assumes a HUGE loss at worst-case scenario - we would still be the luckiest people in the world by a country mile.

Seriously, go into any big box store and tell me with a straight face that having 10% of their personnel (translating to enough min-wage employees to count on the fingers of one hand) would cause serious hardship. Tell me with a straight face that having 1 out of 10 less choices of the huge amount of luxuries we have available today that KINGS 100 years ago couldn’t dream of.

And lest a Free Trader with slightly more brains than average accuse me of talking like Bernie Sanders, let’s all remember that this TINY reduction in choices is not for social (in)justice or GloBull Warming reduction, it’s to give our fellow men their jobs back. Are you really gonna say that out of any ten Disney blankets or bath towels or ice cream that you see on the shelf *specifically for having a massive increase in the amount of American citizens employed* is a bad trade???

LOL. You need to do little more work in the economic arena. Time to brush up. I’ll wait. I’m very patient.

Instead waiting patiently address my post point by point. You can't that's why.
