I do believe Walt Disney could have come up with a better design that that silliness. To think two children are supposed to be worshiping that goat is ridiculous. Goats stink.
More like a man who spliced genes with a goat. (get my drift), or moslem.
If brass could talk...
Oh great Baphomet, what does the future hold in store for me?
Answer: Ba-a-a.
Yes, worship of animals is stupid and silly on the face of it. We eat those things.
I wouldn't know directly, but I can guess: as you've said earlier, the site has a bit of questionable content.
So you are with and stand with ISIS in destroying anything that is pre-Islamic or anything pre-Christian? Never mind the fact that the temple also once was converted to a Christian Church.
The real facts, as we know them: the Temple of Baal, also known as the Temple of Bel, was built in Palmyra, Syria in 32 AD, and for centuries it was a place of worship to the Mesopotamian god Bel. It was later converted to a Christian churchand then a mosque. In August 2015, ISIS destroyed the temple and beheaded the archaeologist who had been looking after the ruins for 40 years. Why? ISIS considers "pre-Islamic religious objects or structures sacrilegious." Also, they're complete assholes. http://gothamist.com/2016/03/30/goodbye_america_thx_obama.php
God Destroyed some things, many relics, many great architectural buildings, many prominent cultures and Evil religions, because those cultures were extremely vile, nasty, and evil- but He did allow some to remain- for whatever Reason He had- but that doesnt mean we have to celebrate them or bring attention to them- and We certainly arent to be a party to any sort of promotion of them and their wicked ways-
I hear rumors that in the coliseum in Rome they tortured and murder Christians. That think needs to come down. Of course, you would need the moral evasion of not doing it yourself, but just being pleased that it was done.
Some other historically important archeological sites and works of art that ISIS and evidently some idiots here would like to see destroyed for their wicked ways:
[[but He did allow some to remain- for whatever Reason He had- but that doesnt mean we have to celebrate them or bring attention to them- and We certainly arent to be a party to any sort of promotion of them and their wicked ways-]]
Did you not see this or understand it? NOONE is advocating tearing everything down Calm down!
so- you agree with the god molech that babies shoudl be sacrificed on an alter, homosexuality is fine, rape is ok, burning people alive is fine, virgins should be sacrificed huh? Huh? HUH?
See how silly your moral equivalency accusation is?
So you are therefore agreeing with what ISIS does? Yes or no?
You do understand that the site that ISIS mostly destroyed was built between the 1st and 2nd Centuries AD and while under Roman rule and is an outstanding example of late Greco-Roman architecture, dont you?
And as such, being under Roman rule, it probably wasnt, despite being dedicated to the Mesopotamian god Baal, a temple where human sacrifices were being carried out during that time period but where most likely where only animal sacrifices where made, dont you?
The Romans FWIW, while very brutal and certainly extremely cruel in carrying out their executions, executions of war prisoners and of course famously of the early Christians, and while fairly tolerant of other religious beliefs in the lands over which they ruled, they did actually have a rule of law and wouldnt have tolerated mass wanton human sacrifices; believe it or not they would have actually found that practice rather abhorrent and would not have tolerated it; the practice of human sacrifice was prohibited by senatorial decree in 97 BCE under the consulship of P. Licinius Crassus. The Romans afterward proscribed the practice by the different peoples they conquered, regarding the practice as barbaric and distinguishing their own civilization from those outside the empire, dont you?
You also understand that Palmyra was an historically important city in ancient times that was once a crossroads and an important link and point of trade between the Eastern and Western worlds part of the early Silk Road and is mentioned in the Old Testament, dont you?
You do know that Palmyra at its height was known as being a tolerant home to many different faiths and ethnic groups including Jews and early Christians. The remains of a temple of the Sun (or Baal), a great colonnade which originally consisted of some 1500 columns of the Corinthian order, and was nearly a mile in length. There were also a number of square sepulchral towers of much interest; and the streets can still be traced. Several inscriptions in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and the Palmyrean dialect were still existing, dont you?
You also understand that the entire temple is not being reconstructed but just the Arch, the only structure not completely destroyed by ISIS and via some very cool 3-D technology as a way of defying ISIS and all they stand for and that no human or virgin sacrifices are being planned in London or NYC, dont you?
Nothing at all good comes from the wanton and senseless destruction of ancient archeological sites or antiquities such as ISIS does, even those related to pagan (non-Islamic which also includes Christianity), even those sites involved abhorrent practices like human sacrifices or the executions of early Christians such as is the case with the Roman Coliseum.
It has nothing to do with agreeing with nor do I for a minute think that the god molech that babies shoudl be sacrificed on an alter, homosexuality is fine, rape is ok, burning people alive is fine, virgins should be sacrificed
Appreciating and learning about ancient history in all its good and in all its bad; their triumphs and their follies, their amazing buildings and their great engineering feats and of their failures; of the ancient cities and civilizations that once prospered but fell into obscurity; of their triumphs in war and of their conquests or their eventual defeats to superior forces and cultures; all of that is part of our collective history and it is important to preserve and learn about warts and all.
Dynomiting and bulldozing down these ancient structures in order to erase them forever from history, whether in the name of Allah or in the name of scrubbing history of any non-Islamic or non-Christian cultures is just as wrong and is the complete antithesis of what an intelligent and civilized society does.
See how silly your moral equivalency accusation is?
That way everybody can play.....basketbaal.
Okay, I'll shut up now.
The holy spirit wins souls, we plant and water.
And you are wrong about this arch they are erecting
Um, no. Not even close. Worst analogy ever!
The enemy isnt us-
The enemy is ISIS, whose actions you seem to be supporting.
[[The enemy is ISIS, whose actions you seem to be supporting.]]
I guess you and md aren’t going to quit with this ignorant equivalence- whatever- you have a nice day=-
