People are the same in any time throughout history. We will probably or should I say, inevitably follow the same fate as other empires. Everyone thinks that we (Americans) are somehow going to be around as an organized empire for a long time. I’m sure the Assyrians never saw their end coming, the Romans, the Mongols etc....

We are heading towards a world wide open conflict and there is NOTHING anybody can do about it. Might not happen this year or next, but China and Russia are positioning themselves to get a head start. All the women, homosexuals, future yoga instructors, college hopefuls that are in the armed forces are going to figure out that “helping others” and “war making” are two different things.

What folks need to remember is that ISIS is the purest practitioner of Islam in the world today. They practice it in nearly the exact same fashion Mohammed did.

They destroy this stuff for the same reason that the Arabs finished off the Library of Alexandria: If it is not in the Koran it is unnecessary and probably blasphemous. If it is in the Koran, then it is superfluous.

IN this case, since the ruins, statues, etc., are from a period before Mohammed, they are unnecessary and probably blasphemous, so it should be destroyed. The fact that offends the kaffirs is just an added bonus.
