Anyone can take a poll and get exactly the result the desire either by the way in which the questions are asked, by using the answers you want to use in the tally to determine results or by simply making it up.
Take the recent CNN poll which came out IMMEDIATELY after Trumps blow out Indiana Primary victory. This win all put cemented the nomination for Trump and it came amazingly early in the primary process. In order to blunt the effect of this win and take attention away from Trump they come up with this “outlier” poll showing Clinton suddenly up by 13 points.
I am convinced polls are also used to manipulate the RCP average of polls.
In the last days before the Indiana vote Trump was leading by an average of about 7 points among 5 polls when suddenly some obscure polling company who had not produced a poll in 5 yrs announced a poll showing Cruz up by 13 points. When included in the RCP averages it reduced Trumps lead to just 2 points and within the MOE. Fortunately the RCP folks realized this badly camouflaged attempt at manipulation and yanked the poll.
RCP shows the average difference between the polls has Clinton up by about 5 or so before this poll, with a couple of polls having the race at 2 points for Clinton and one poll having Trump ahead.
“President Barack Obama’s popularity is growing”
This will translate into utter dismal cataclysmic irrelevance in his post white house days. He’s gonna need major anti-psychotics. One can hope ...
