That news didn’t stop tens of thousands from signing multiple online petitions calling for Cincinnati Child Protective Services to investigate the boy’s parents

Monday morning quarterbacks expressing impotent rage over a situation that neither effects them nor concerns them.

Thank goodness someone like Jack Hannah quickly stepped up to offer some rational thought. These folks so worried about the life of a gorilla are idiots.

On the other hand.. If the gorilla did hurt or kill the child before being dispatched, there would be screams about why the zoo didn’t kill the animal sooner.. face it, they ain’t gonna win.

If the zoo took no action and the child was killed, even by accident, there would be hell to pay. My only question is why wasn’t he tranquilized?

“Gorilla lives matter?”

Well, apparently. The animal control officer that fired the shot will have his motives and actions questioned again and again, and the impartiality of the right or wrong of the consequences will be the one lasting casualty.

Emotions tend to have weight far out of proportion to their actual contribution to the discussion at hand.

Almost happened again today. Some woman threw something over the White House fence. Might have been a kid so there was an immediate lock-down and out came the guns. Fortunately, the primates were away.

They considered tranquillizing but said the drug takes some minutes to take effect and just being shot with the dart could have set the animal off.

This is purely the fault of the zoo. There should be no way possible for any thing other than the animals and the zoo personnel to be able to get in that enclosure. Regardless of the parents responsibility to watch after their child how is it possible he could get in?

‘m interested in why it took ten whole minutes to decide to dispatch the gorilla. That should have been an instant decision. Humans trump animals...every time.

Breitbart got punked.

Sad to see some FReepers falling for the hoax, just because it comes from Breitbart

Well I was going to make a joke about black on black crime but...

I’m very sad for the gorilla, sad for the person who had to shoot him, sad and happy for the baby. What an experience this must have been, but I am glad the baby was not killed.

And I am furious with the idiot mother. The gorilla did nothing wrong, but she did.

I see no reason that the zoo shouldn’t sue the sh!t out of her, not that she has anything, but even if she did, noble animal dead because of her stupidity.

Also it seems like zoos should take every possible measure to protect the animals from idiot f***ing humans.

Environmental extremists would prefer a dead kid over a dead gorilla.

No kidding!

You won’t see these same people protesting an abortion clinic who murder MILLIONS of children on a yearly basis..I feel bad for the gorilla, the parents were absolute morons, but the zoo had to save the child they didnt have time to figure out if the gorilla was going to hurt the child or not they had to act, agonizing decision but it had to be done

Those parents dindu nuffin, and all the people crying about a monkey should go climb into a ‘rilla enclosure themselves. Seriously, if you’re going to make a zoo child-proof you’re going to have to turn it into a VR experience, or simply close the zoo and it will be even more better!
