Blasting practices and people that are responsible for a 7-digit bodycount should be the practice of every American at every position of influence, be that at a town hall or on the air at a baseball diamond. Good for Scully.

Way to go Vin Scully. He’s retiring this year and is untouchable. And what did he say that is not factual?

Jimmy the Greek got fired for articulating a similar truth.
Screw it. Throw ‘em the HEAT, Scully!

Charles Osgood did a vignette on Vince Scully about 25 years ago. The vignette is set in Brooklyn, in the 1950’s, when Scully was the new radio play-by-play announcer for the Dodgers. Scully is taking a taxi to Ebbets Field, and the cabbie, who did not recognize Scully, was complaining about Scully’s coverage. “That Scully, he’s too fair.”
Osgood concluded his vignette by noting, “I don’t know what they are teaching in journalism schools these days, but it sure isn’t Vince Scully.”
Same old Scully, same old journalists.

I don't know Vin Scully personally, but my intuitive guess is that he's been on the conservative side of things all these years, working in an an environment - baseball (as well as media) - which has morphed steadily toward the left over his long time on the job with the Dodgers, especially in the past two or three decades.
He had probably been restraining himself from getting into serious discussions over things he had seen around him that were gnawing at him for awhile, in the interest of preserving his unparalleled reputation in the sportscasting world. But now, knowing that he is in his final year on the job, he temporarily lost that restraint and let off some "politically incorrect" steam. He's at the stage where he really has nothing to lose and he knows it.
Congratulations, Vin, for using your iconic status to irritate the lefty sports media and the MSM as a whole. They richly deserve it.
