CCI Mini-mag is good stuff.
What can you do with 22lr ammo. A guy I know got shot with the stuff. It just mad him mad.
In the coming years, they’re going to get a lot of business from folks living west of the Colorado River.
When I see 22LR of any variety on the shelf at the WalMart here in Maricopa, then I will agree wthat the supply and demand have equalized. Since I cannor reload .22, I will hang on to what I have, just in case. Practice will just have to continue on with 9mm & 38.
Kill most anything you want to with it
I bought 6000 rounds as soon as obummer got elected. I have since hired armed guards to watch over it and I insured it with Lloyds of London. I have been thinking about charging admission for people to look at it.
Shot placement is everything... OSS guys used suppressed .22LR Hi-Standard semi-auto handguns to take out sentries in WWII Europe and the Pacific. Those sentries weren’t mad... they were dead.
But other than THAT extreme circumstance :^) - I use it for practice and for teaching newbies (I’m an instructor).
“What can you do with 22lr ammo”
8 yr olds can practice all day with it and it don’t cost nuthin’.
New Shooters can give it a try and not be scared off by the boom. Let’s em get used to it all a step at a time.
Disabled folks, and seniors with infirm hands, can practice the mechanics (and physics) of handgun use, learning technique and method, and gradually move up to a more useful caliber.
And all of the gunowners from Calfi-pornia will be beating down the doors.
The Israeli IDF uses .22’s in urban settings. A shot to the knee or groin area or head does work. They use a Ruger 10/22.
You can reload .22. It is quite a bit of work, but it can be done. The hardest part is mixing the priming compound and repriming the case.
It is easier to recharge centerfire primers than to reload .22 cases.
Back in the 1960s, the most common firearm used in murders was the .22 short-long-long rifle.
I had .22 shells stockpiled but we have shot over 2000 rabbits this year and haven’t been able to easily restock. We look at Walmart but they never have any.
Interesting.
Of course those murder numbers were very low, yes?
A person I know from Mexico told me that while growing up there he was aware of several people shot with .22. About 2/3 were killed and the other third were badly maimed for life.
And just what did Hinkley use on the R Reagan attempt?
The .22 LR is one of the most efficient cartridges ever made.
It is very powerful for its size.
.22 still has not made an appearence on Walmart shelves in VA.
Aguila has added another line and should soon be pumping out another billion rounds a year.
That should help.
