Hooray, Hooray, another gun law. This will be the one that makes Chicago the safest city in America! </unicorn farts and fairy dust>

So if your neighbor wants to bust your balls, he can file a COP and automatically have your guns confiscated.

Meanwhile, criminals and terrorists are still fully armed, but have the peace of mind of knowing that their victims probably aren't.

I am so very happy for the combat-fatigued population of Chicago.
I surely hope they well now enjoy the quiet weekend nights in their wonderful city.
In TRUTH, I feel a great pity for the people who think this will make a bit of difference in the city. I doubt if more than 1% of the gune used in 2016 were “legally owned.”
Maybe not quite that many.

Under Illinois law, many who do not qualify for protection through restraining orders can obtain a stalking no contact order which can be obtained by victims of stalking who do not have a relationship with the offender.

So this will make Rahm Emaneul’s Mafia’s buddies think twice about committing firearms related crimes (do I really need the sarc?)?

OK, so no trial, no jury, just someone's word against yours, and if you leave Illinois you're still punished?
Why to they even pretend the 2nd Amendment even exists in Illinois?

Some of the anti-gun laws seem minor or even sensible, but this one seems more intrusive. Can’t anyone get a restraining order on someone else without really having to prove they are a threat?

Has nothing to do with if you do or not.
Your neighbor merely has to state, “He’s been threatening me” or “He’s been threatening me, I think he may have guns in the house”.
Immediately you are run for a pistol permit and/or your house is searched for firearms.
Have seen it happen.
OP’s are guilty until proven innocent complaints.
