Why not ballistic ‘Bullet Print’ each gun....

They already do in many places. When you buy a new gun you get a fired case that can go to the police files. Each gun has a serial number also so when someone is killed and their gun retrieved they can go after the person that had the gun stolen in the first place. Criminals do no buy guns so why would they buy bullets?

You already need an FOID card in Illinois to purchase ammunition. How is putting a serial number on every round going to stop criminals?

I suspect it is a professional courtesy to the criminals for the criminals in office.

Except that bullets are a fundamental part of EVERY functional firearm.

You can track a bullet from the gun into its target, that is all.

Attempting to track bullets by “grooves” or “smudges” or other patterns are a false method of putting “undesirables” behind bars, nothing more.

When do we start punishing brain-dead politicians who continually spew useless ideas and stupid thoughts?

It's like listening to a babbling two-year old.

It's absolutely infuriating to have these moronic so-called 'public servants' using their time trying to steal the rights of the people who pay their bloated, undeserved salaries...!

ARRRRGH!

Yes, it was four years before they had actionable information. In Chicago, four years is a lot of lives lost from shootings.

Yes the numbers will be totally readable after the bullet is deformed.

But I reject the premise anyway.

are they supposed to stamp the projectile, the case, the primer, all of the above ?

what about the powder ? how will “Disarm Whites Now” track that ?

How does Illinois limit people who reload ?

That is really used in nursing and medicine to help determine hydration and other bowel issues.

Like illegal alien invaders, tracking criminals and gang members would be too hard. They stay “in da shadows” a lot. Track dem bullets.

For the demoncrats and the gun-control freaks, it's not about stopping crime. It's all about controlling the honest citizens. This hare-brained scheme isn't supposed to stop crime, and the freaks pushing it know that. They're not as stupid as they act. It's supposed to do two things:

1) Propagandize the idea that guns are bad.

2) Disarm "We the People".

That is all.

Do they understand just how many cartridges are sold every year? There's not room on the bullet to stamp the number.

I can change the ballistic print of any gum in less than 15 minutes.

“It’s a lot easier to control the sale of bullets than guns.”

It’s a lot easier to control the bullets than it is to control the thug criminals, which they’re studiously not doing.
