Lobstering in LIS for Connecticut fishermen has been banned b/c of a devastating wasting disease of the lobster.
I feel for the fishermen whose lifeblood has been fishing for generations.
Hawaii is reeling[no pun intended] from their huge Pacific expansion of a maritime preserve and no-fishing zone by Hussein.
The Obama decree essentially bans all commercial fishing and deep-sea mining (which doesn’t exist yet in any case) in the huge tract in perpetuity, though the announcement said there would be some exceptions for “recreational and traditional fishing that is consistent with the conservation goals of the Monument.”
We’ll be buying our fish from China. Oh goody.

We fish recreationally off the coast of MA. In the last few years the restrictions on what we can catch, size and amount has made it a waste of time to put a rod in the water.
Has anybody found the Article and Clause in the Constitution that allows either of these atrocities?
