Basically at the convention, and the next day, he told America: "You loyal die-hard conservatives, vote your conscience and follow me! I'm your leader!" Then he charged up that hill like Custer at Little Big Horn. Problem is, when he turned around he saw just a handful of people. Everyone else abandoned him and were crowded into a huge tent with Trump.
Funny thing is, Cruz and the die-hard Cruzbots STILL refuse to accept reality and to this day overestimate their numbers and influence.
Cruz’s positions that he actually voted in favor of are often not conservative. What conservative Cruz supporter do you know that wanted 5-fold more H1-Bs or $150 Billion+ to go to Iran?

Why the hell is it assumed that just because I defend those that hold Trump to account I’m speaking in direct defense of Cruz? Both have their flaws and both a case can be made by a conservative why they shouldn’t receive a vote.
What has happened to a forum espousing truly conservative values...had this been any other candidate we’d all be chomping at the bit over Cruz as well as Trump for their positions.... if we hit Cruz hard for his history and stances then we damned well better hold our candidates feet to the fire as well. When he strays left as I’ve pointed out why aren’t we just as heated?

I don’t want to watch a media driven car clown show. Trump is handling them masterfully no doubt about it and I hope it continues. I have no issue with any of that and quite enjoy it from time to time.
He needs to continue his path of policy (which was nice to see) but not pull left as has been a slight trend of late.

It’s contemptible how ‘conservatives’ are willing to give our country to Hillary because of their immature pouting.
If so-called conservatives can’t see how securing the border, removing choking regulations, getting rid of horrific ‘trade’ agreements, and actually fighting instead of coddling Islam are absolutely VITAL to preserving even PART of our nation, and instead withhold their vote because of things that are THAT minor when compared to the disaster that Hillary would bring?
And all out of some notion of pride or purity?

Just to clarify here, the article starts off by pointing out that Phil Robertson is a “former Cruz supporter”.
I know you are not talking about people like him, but remember that many of us were “former Cruz supporters”, including the founder of Free Republic.
We need former Cruz supporters. Don’t write off millions of voters because we bet on the wrong horse at first. Most of us have sense enough to get behind Trump now.
I think the vast majority of them are fully on board now. It seems worse than it is because loud mouthed girlie men like Beck, Kristol and Goldberg are making noise disproportionate to their numbers.
