I will say that the storm surge into GA and SC may get very high but most of those on the islands know this. Lots of river channels in there.

I'm sick of all the TV anchors standing out in the wind, which doesn't look as bad as any common nor'easter here in NC, and telling the rest of us that it's too dangerous to go outside. Do they not realize their mere presence is telling everyone it's OK to be outside!!??

These media people want this Mathew to be a catastrophe so badly. Then they can blame Global warming and Trump because Trump doesn’t believe in global warming.
The media and gov agencies predicted Florida would get hit by category 4 hurricane. From the winds speeds it seems like Florida got “hit” by at most a very weak tropical storm not even a hurricane

On of my favorites was how he worked himself into a tizzy during the Boston bombing and blurted out that 'he had reports of several fatalities , and at least 11 decapitations'.
That probably isn't verbatim but it's close to what he was blubbering about.

These weather announcers are a regular pain in the a#@.
They NEVER STFU and blather on and on and on.... like a broken record.....LOOOOOOONG after they announce the actual weather information.
They positively LOVE these threatening and dangerous weather events because THEN they get tons of face time on the media. Most of these people are SO infatuated with the sound of their own voices that they actually babble.
They talk like everyone is 12 years old and addicted to sensation and trauma..... I get the bare stats about our local weather and never go near the national ‘weather station’.
