Yeah pretty much...they do. Airline pilots, military, TV/radio voices....mainstream American English.
Southerners and Northeast residents, different. Lots of different identifiable dialects in both regions.

Yeah, I'd say mainstream (broadcast) American English follows Webster's pronunciations pretty well.
When I say "Park the car in the yard"....each word is the same as directed by the dictionary.
You guys might say "Pahk the coa in the yahd". My favorite New Yawk word is "gobbage"
