Anyone that thinks that this country will ever be unified again is a fool.

The school superintendent set them up? And he only got 650 death threats?
Why are people like this running the schools?

Thomas invited the veterans to the event knowing the cheerleaders would be disrespecting the flag? That is a special kind of hate.

I would like to see the so-called “death threats” before I believe them. Are they calling comments like “Go to hell” and “Drop dead” death threats? Are the comments any different from what people like Hannity and Limbaugh get every day? I suspect that they are changing plans because they don’t want to be booed and further embarrassed.

Why do we continuously degrade our national anthem by playing it before athletic events?
Of what national significance is a high school, college or professional sporting event?
A quick resolution to this anti-flag, anti-anthem display would be to just stop playing the anthem. If the teams require musical inspiration before the game, let the band play the school song!!!

NFL is doing tight shots so they are not showing the crappers or cutting to commercials to avoid it right after the Anthem.
Don’t get fooled into thinking they got the message, they are just going around it. 2 games this weekend did this. Look for more of it.

"Not only were there World War II veterans present at the high school football game serving as the honor guard, but the veterans had been set up by the Superintendent of the school, Aaron Thomas, who invited the veterans to the game, knowing that his cheerleaders were planning the disgusting protest. "
Intimations of intent by the author aside, this is the rotten part.
That man should not be in the position of superintendent.

I live about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh and I have not heard one single word about this incident or story. Anywhere. However I will say this,My brother-in-law is a vet of the first Gulf War,and likes going Friday nights to the local high school football games here in Washington County. He told me some players did the kneeling thing during the Star Spangled Banner and got booed. ANY coach worth a sh!t should forfeit any game when his players will no stand for our flag.

FWIW, some of my family went to school in what is now called “Cornell.” It covers the area (Neville Island Dravo Co shipyard) that during WWII manufactured many LSTs. John Kasich was from Coraopolis, which is also in the district. Before the area changed, it was filled with good, patriotic, hard working families.

I remember once reading about a comment that a Marine General (or Navy admiral, can't recall which) made in summing up a just completed assault on one of the many Pacific Islands we had to take during WWII.In summing up the performance of the Marines during the attack this General/Admiral said something like "during this assault uncommon courage was a common commodity".
IMO this comment sums up the performance of all our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines during WWII.In Europe, the Pacific and elsewhere.
These punk cheerleaders...and the Principal who set this up...aren't fit to be in the same room as the typical WWII veteran.

“It elicited passionate reactions from both sides, but particularly from those who felt the protests flied in the face of area veterans who were on hand to serve as the honor guard for the game,” MSN reported.
Flied? The people at MSN don’t know the past tense of fly is flew? If its a detect quote from somebody else, how about a little “(sic)”?
I had to read that out load to figure out what they meant.

I predict next year the National Anthem will no longer be played at any sporting event. It’s too offensive to “some”.
That’s when patriots should stop going to all of them.
